"Is this the right thing?" I held out a board in the store for Juliana to see.

"No. It's close though."

"How about this?"

"Robbie..." She whined a little bit, pushing the cart down the aisle still. "That's a neon, highlighter pink poster board. What do you think?"

"Yes?" I cocked my head to the side.

She just shook her head. "No. Robbie. No. Mr. Saltzstein would think we were so unprofessional if we showed up with our project on that thing."

I shrugged my shoulders. "I think it'd be very professional."

"Let's keep looking for what I have in mind, okay?"

"I can't believe you persuaded me into getting that pink board." She crossed her arms.

"Hey..." I side glanced at her quickly. "the pink posterboard screams confidence and creativity in my mind. I'm sure Mr. Saltzstien and the other judges will think the same. Sometimes you just gotta be bold, Juliana! Plus, it's not my fault that the store didn't have what you were looking for."

"Robbie. It's pink."

I faked hurt and horror, by grabbing at my chest with the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel."Since when did you develop such prejudice for the color that is a perfect blend of red and white?"

The stern look on her face cracked into a smile and she started laughing. "I have nothing against pink; it's my favorite color. It just doesn't belong on science presentations."

"It'll be fine, Jules. Look, if we don't do well on the project, I'll pay you a hundred bucks."

"Okay, deal."

As soon as Juliana and I walked in the garage door, I saw that Aaron's family and the Clawsons(Ruth's family) were over. How many times did I need to ask Mom to let me know before she threw some great big party? Apparently, I hadn't asked her enough yet.

"Hi, Juliana!" Danny ran over to her and gave her a hug. "Remember me? I'm Danny." He said in his high-pitched, helium voice.

I rolled my eyes. "Get lost, Danny!"

Juliana and I made our way to the den and plopped down on the couch.

Sam was sitting in the recliner on the other side of the room eating his favorite food, which was Lays Classic potato chips and French Onion Dip. I guessed Allie and Ruth were off with Tyla.

"Hey, Squeaky. Your voice stop cracking yet?"

I felt Juliana smack my arm. "Robbie! That was mean. Do you want me to make fun of you the next time your voice cracks?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. My voice doesn't crack now..."

"It just did Mr. I'm-Done-Going-Through-Puberty." She just shook her head and smiled a little.

Sam was laughing hysterically on the other side of the room.

"Okay. So it cracks sometimes, but hey, it's not any where near as bad Squeaky over there." I pointed at Sam in the recliner.

"Sure, Robbie... Whatever ya say, Squeaky Senior."

Sam brings up the successful prank the 'crew': Robbie, Sam, Aaron, Allie, and Ruthie pulled.

Ruth then brings up the last HUGE prank that Robbie/Dalton/Aaron/Sam tried to pull was a failure because both she(Ruthie) and Allie weren't involved in it.

Robbie starts to get a tad embarrassed, so he asks Jules out on a walk.

They go for a walk. Robbie learns a little more about Juliana.
