*The Next Day*
The billionth person to come to Juliana's party walked through the door. She did her quick little routine: hug, smile, and thank them so much for coming. I just stood there beside her watching person after person step foot on the dance floor.
"Can we go dance now?" I asked again.
"No! Stop asking me that." She said in a hushed tone.
"But I wanna show off my moves."
"What moves do ya got, Robbie?" She rested her hand on her hip and looked at me.
"Well," I cracked my knuckles. "I can do a pretty damn good Sprinkler. My Lawn Mower ain't half bad either. My Running Man is a force to be reckoned with. Need I go on?"
Juliana was doubled over in laughter. I continued, "I still got a few secret moves up my sleeve too."
"Are you being serious? Do you really know all these?"
"Why else would I want out on that dance floor?" I eyed the dance floor then looked back at her.
Juliana held back a smile and just shook her head. More guests arrived, so Jules did her routine. How was she not bored?
"Psst." I whispered in her ear. She was jabbing her jaw off. "Psst..." I said again. Jules swatted me away.
I stayed away for a few minutes before trying to get her attention again. Someone must have asked her about science or something because she was still talking. "Jules... Psst." I leaned closer to her ear. "Juuuulllliiiiaaaannnnaaaaa.... Thissss issssss yourrrrrr conscienceeeeeee." I continued in my haunting voice. "Listennnn toooo meeeeee... youuuu shoulddd" I added a few more voice quivers in to make it sound more convincing and realistic, "letttt Robbieeeee danceeeeee. Otherwis- oomph" Juliana's knife-like elbow jabbed into my stomach.
Once again, I laid low for a few minutes before deciding to move around again. This time though, I didn't bug her. I decided to sneak off to the DJ table.
"After this song?" The DJ cupped his hand around his ear and leaned over the table a little bit. I was practically yelling; the music was so loud.
I shook my head yes and hung out by the DJ table.
Just like we had discussed, the song that was playing ended, and the DJ handed me the microphone. "For those of you that have no clue who I am, I'm Robbie, Juliana's boyfriend." I turned my head away from the microphone and cleared my throat, "Sorry bout that. Got a little froggy in the throat. Anyway. I've seen lots of chick flicks since I started dating Jules, and well, most people expect the boyfriend to serenade the girlfriend. Well, my voice is not that good, and I'm blessing you by not letting you hear it. But I still wanted to do something special for my lady, so I thought about what I was good at doing. So, yeah. I'm gonna dance. Juliana! This one's for you babe! Take it away DJ!" I pointed at the table and gave him the microphone.
