Chapter 13.

(Extra long chapter.)

Magnus' POV.

Our cuddling session had quickly turned into a nap, I had only been sleeping for a few hours. A pair of hands gentlt shook me awake and I woke to see Alexander's handsome face staring down at me.

"Hey Magnus, I'm sorry to wake you, but I have to go," he said softly.

"What- but I thought you said you weren't going anywhere," I complained.

"I know, there was a demon attack on the institute. They need me. I should only be gone for an hour or so," he said.

I looked at the time. I guess I had slept longer than I thought, because it was 1 A.M. . "Alexander- be careful please. They shouldn't make you go out so late. You should be sleeping and getting rest."

He sighed, "I know." He leaned down and kissed my head.

"Be careful, please," I said again.

"I will. I love you," he kissed my lips.

"I love you too," I answered. With that he smiled at me and left. I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep knowing he was out there, and could possibly be hurt. I decided to get up and make myself occupied.

I looked for comfy clothes to wear. I didn't wear sweats often, but I pulled some on. I found one of Alexander's sweaters and wore that too, it was big on me, but I didn't mind.

I went to the kitchen and made a cup of tea. I picked up Chairman and went to the couch.  I sipped my tea and gave Chairman attention for a while.

Thirty minutes soon passed since Alexander left and I kept telling myself, 'He'll be home soon.' But once an hour passed and he wasn't back, I started to panic.

I gave it fifteen more minutes before deciding to call him.

No answer.

I contemplated going to the institute, but I knew Alexander would be angry. He always gets angry whenever there is a dangerous situation at the institute and I show up.

He was probably fine. But was he? I didn't know. When 3 A.M. neared I was afraid. I got up and started to pace.

(SWITCHING SETTING AND POV HERE.)

Alec's POV.

I had just finished battling a demon and I was injured. Izzy kept insisting I stay at the Institute, but Magnus would be worried about me.

"Alec, please," Izzy said, "you're hurt. Stay here until you're healed."

"Iz, I'll be fine," I only had a minor injury that an Iratze could probably fix. I knew it didn't look that way, I was covered in ichor and blood. "I'll have Magnus help me out at home."

She sighed, "fine. But get home quick."

I nodded and left. I got home as quick as I could. I unlocked the door and went inside when Magnus saw me he jumped.

"Jesus Alexander! Shower. Now."

He grabbed my arm and led me to the bathroom. He started the shower and demanded that I undress, "I take it you were caught in the midst of the fighting," he asked as I was undressing.

"Yeah. I walked right into it."

"Are you hurt anywhere," he asked.

I nodded and got in the shower, the blood starting to wash off.

"I told you to be careful," he said, grabbing a cloth and taking my arm. He started to wipe more blood and ichor off.

"Magnus I'm fine."

"I was worried about you," he said.

"I know," I answered. I finished showering and Magnus fixed up my wound. I crawled into bed and he got in next to me.

Magnus pressed a kiss to my lips before cuddling into me and the both of us falling asleep.
