Sa mga bagong readers po, welcome sa mga kalokohan ni otor. Minsan nagpapaiyak, minsan nagpapatawa. Ganyan lang po siya pero ganyan na siya talaga.
Today is the pilot for their 10-min segment called Happy News and RJ still doesn't know what Maine has planned out. He was informed by Direk Assimo that the first episode concept was scrapped out last minute yesterday. Maybe he was not just paying attention.
RJ decided to put aside first what he and Maine talked about last night. This is work and regardless of what Maine's answer will be to his suit, he should at least be professional when it comes to their work.
He perfectly knows that he'll just be anchoring the segment but still he should at least be given a copy of the spiel or topic at the very least. Maine is also not answering his messages or calls. Is she already on location? Did she get angry with what he said last night and decided to call off the segment without informing him?
It's almost 7:30 and it's already his call time soon to report to the set of Morning News. RJ already has the Copy for all the news that morning except for their segment.
"Direk, ano to? Where is Maine?"
Direk Assimo turned to face him. "Aba malamang nasa suot niyang damit, ano pa? Ang simple naman ng tanong mo Alden. Wala bang mas mahirap nang ma-exercise ko naman ang utak ko. Ready ka na ba? It's Happy News today! So we should all be smiling."
"I mean, is she on location? Pa'nong magiging ready, I don't even have the Copy for the segment."
"Ay sorry, hindi ba namin nasabi sa 'yo? O hindi ka nakikinig when I explained it yesterday? Kasi naman hindi ka makausap kahapon. Pasan mo yata ang buong mundo pati ang buong Solar System, buti na lang hindi na planeta si Pluto."
"Sorry na po, direk. What do you mean?"
"Dahil nga Happy News ang segment n'yo, we decided to make it impromptu on your part, para maka-relate ang mga viewers. Titingnan natin kung yung ibabalita ni Maine e magiging Happy News nga for you. So your reaction will be more spontaneous. Idea ni Maine, hindi ba niya sinabi sa 'yo?"
No, I'm too busy telling other things to her. "Direk naman e, pa'no kung matiyempuhan na malungkot ako at hindi ako matawa o mangiti man lang?"
"E di nganga! Waley ang magiging score ng Happy News ni Maine. Try ulit siya sa next time. Pero di ko naman ma-imagine na kahit isang smile di mo gagawin. Ikaw pa, e pangalan pa lang ang banggitin, may estrella na sa mata mo."
Unless mabasted ako, baka matagalan bago ako mag-smile ulit. "I'm not too sure about this Direk, it might backfire on us."
"Wait, wait! Alam mo binigyan mo ko ng idea dyan, why not let you and our viewers rate the segment kung ano ang kanilang score sa happiness meter using our HT for the day? O diba ang bongga lang? Sandali lang at masabi sa ating Segment producer natin at kay Kara, diyan ka lang. O huwag ka ma-freeze, galaw-galaw din pag may time."

Morning News
The moment of truth came; they were down to the Weather forecast for the day. Sunny with a chance of rain.
Now RJ is nervous. He has not done this before. The camera is now focused on him and Maine will appear on split screen anytime now. He was given the cue by the floor director to officially start the Happy News segment.
