"Ash, what time do we have to leave for dinner?" I whispered in his ear trying to wake him up from the nap he had taken on the couch. Instead of answering he just moaned and grabbed onto me pulling me on top of him. "Ash seriously its already 6." I said swatting at his chest trying not to laugh.
"Oh shit!" He yelped as he rolled over pushing me off the couch leaving me on the ground with a thud. "We have to leave in like a half hour!' He said rushing off to my room to get dressed.
It would have been nice if he told me the thousands of times I asked him early so that we both had time to get dressed. Typical Ashton, always running late.
I crawled up off the ground and walked to my room to join Ashton in getting ready. In reality I could get dressed in half the time he could so I didn't really need to start getting ready for a few minutes but I figured I would actually try today and put some make up on.
I pulled on a laced red dress, it wasn't too fancy but it wasn't too casual either, and my white high tops - just to tame the dressiness down a little. It was a perfect outfit.
I worked my way over to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup before Ashton had time to kick me out to do his hair. I quickly fixed my natural curls with the curling iron, tightening them to perfection. I then line my eyes with blue eyeliner, to make the bright green of my pupils pop, and then finished off with some bright red lipstick. Red was always my favorite color to wear because I thought it looked good on red heads.
I stood in front of the mirror for a few moments, admiring the way I looked. For once I actually felt very pretty and I was proud of how well I cleaned up.
I started playing with my curls when I heard Ashton from the closet, "You look beautiful Romie." His voice broke me from my trance and I could feel my cheeks starts to turn red.
"You don't look too bad yourself Irwin." I replied walking towards him. He was dressed in his usual black jeans and tank top but now he had a blazer on and he was wearing his stupid fedora. I couldn't lie, he looked good.
As I reached him he held his hand out, grabbing mine and spinning me in a circle before bringing me to his chest for a hug and kissing my forehead. Ashton had a good 6 inches on me so he was always kissing the top of my head.
"Ready?" he asked into my hair and I nodded back.
After a 30 minute drive to the restaurant we finally arrived and had our table all ready and waiting for us. I was excited to have a nice dinner with Ashton. We never really went out and did much together. We spent the majority of our time at home goofing off or watching horrible movies.
"Can I get you two anything?" a familiar voice asked. I was too afraid of who it was to actually look up but I forced my eyes to glance.
"Michael?" I gasped. "What are you doing here?" as soon as I hear his voice I knew it was him. How many other Australians live here?
"Surprise!" Ashton yelled before Michael had a chance to respond.
I smiled and gave Ashton a confused look. What did he mean? "what?" I cluelessly asked.
"When you were sleeping this morning after Michael called you I took your phone and grabbed his number from it." Ashton stopped to take a sip of water and then continued explaining. "I knew you wouldn't do this on your own so I called him and decided to surprise you by setting you guys up on a perfect date." He smiled at his sneaky set up.
I looked back up at Michael and he was already looking down at me with a huge grin on his face. "All his idea" he shrugged, blaming Ashton.
I just say there taking in what these two had just pulled on me and the silence was growing thick. No one had said anything in what felt like a few hours.
