Michael's POV.

When I talked to Ashton I explained to him my plan to get Romie back and he eagerly agreed to help me. He had witnessed first hand how out of it she had been since we had been apart and I could tell she was just as miserable as I was without her.

The number on my timer had gone down to 28 but if everything worked out as planned i'd be seeing her within an hour. And hopefully things did work out. A little part of me was more excited to see what the timer would do because I had gone against it to see Romie. I wasn't sure how it would function or what it would do considering it was never wrong.

We were suppose to be living our lives day by day according to the timers. It was almost as if the government controlled every aspect of our lives through these timers. And through it all, here I was defying the one constant in our lives to do what I had to. So here I sit, waiting at the Sydney airport, twiddle my thumbs nervously as I watch plane loads of people scattering like ants around me.

I was becoming nervous, terrified, and nauseous all at one. Everything around me was becoming just one big blur. My head was spinning, my heart rate was tripling, my hands started to become sweaty and suddenly time froze.

Time froze when I saw the confused, yet adorable, face of the girl I left back in Los Angeles. She was all I could see, the people around us were nothing but darkness surrounding the tunnel of light that was Romie.

She had not yet seen me, still looking around aimlessly. I was still sitting across the walkway unable to take my eyes off of her when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out to see a text from Ashton.

"Remember she doesn't know why she's there so make it worth her while. Good luck bro"

I sent him a quick text back and finally managed to make myself move. A few deep breaths later and I was making my way over to Romie. By this point she had turned around and was no longer facing me.

I snuck up behind her and wrapped my hands around her waist, quickly spinning her around. I felt her jump under my touch.

"Hey gorgeous." I smiled down at her, finally making eye contact.

It was then that we realized the effects of seeing each other before the timer was up. The usual vibration of the timer was replaced with a moment of electrocution, causing us both to flinch in pain.

"I guess that's what we get for fucking with the system." I joked.

I took a step back from Romie, looking at her as she studied my face. She had yet to say anything to me yet and I couldn't blame her. She was probably still confused and surprised that I was even here. After all Ashton basically just threw her on a plane. The worst part was that she didn't even seem happy to see me, she just seemed more distraught than anything. She had a perfect little scowl on her face as she looked at me. I was trying so hard to read her expression but I couldn't figure her out.

"Your hair." Her voice was emotionless and monotone. After not seeing each other for two months that's the first thing she says?

I scruffy my newly cotton candy pink hair up with my hands and smirked at her. "Oh ya. I uh I dyed it yesterday. I though I could use a change."

She looked at my hair again before looking down at my lips while licking hers. I couldn't tell if she wanted me to kiss her or not. I wasn't sure what she was feeling right now and I didn't want to risk pissing her off by kissing her when she didn't want me to.

"Can we get your luggage and then go back to my parents house and talk?" I broke the uncomfortable silence and tried to get a response from her but all I managed to get was a nod.
