DAY 5:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته،
ربي اشرح لي صدري و يسر لي أمري...
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Day 5, alhamdulillah!
Dhikr of the Day
Sending salutations to our Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
اللهم صلي وسلم على نبينا محمد.
Allahumma sali wasalam alaa nabiyina Muhammad.
Say this as much as you can and whenever you remember it.
Ma sha Allah, today is a blessed day for us.
Action of the Day
I hope yesterday we cleansed our hearts and made them as clear as a crystal; and so it’s ready to be filled with love for Allah and others.
Today we will do something special for special people.
Telling our parents that we love them and appreciate whatever they have done for us to this day. That's very simple, but might be hard for some of us.If your parents are not around anymore, it doesn't mean you are excluded. The best gift you can give them is praying for them and seeking Allah's forgiveness for them. They are in need of your prayers all the time.
Allah says, Surah Al-Isra, Verse 24:
وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
And make yourself submissively gentle to them with compassion, and say: O my Lord! Have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) little.
Surah Al-Isra, Verse 23:
And your Lord has commanded that you shall not serve (any) but Him, and goodness to your parents. If either or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them (so much as) "Ugh" nor chide them, and speak to them a generous word.
Allah is commanding us to speak generous words. Among the words are loving words.
If you are a parent and reading this, I am sure you know exactly how it feels when your child tells you, "I love you," and not after you've done something for him or her, but out of the blue. Parents get shocked and they get emotional. Just tell them how you appreciate the unpaid love and care they gave you. It’s a good act which has rewards bi'idnillah.
Some might say, "I have the worst parents on earth and I'm going tell them 'I love you'?! No way!"
Hey, slow down buddy... Didn't we clean our hearts of anger yesterday? Yes, we did clean our hearts Just give them their rights, Allah knows your struggles, so don't worry at all.
Believe me, after saying those words, observe their reaction. It’s either a smile or a cry, or even a dumbfounded look. It depends on how frequently you tell them that. But trust me, it touched their hearts. They might not even show it, but deep down there, it has definitely affected them.
So, take a deep breath and talk to your parents. Give them a hug (if they are with you) and tell them you love them; and for those who have lost their parents, make du'a for them.
It’s a noble act, so take advantage of it in this holy month. Be courageous, be loving, be just.
Smile; its Sunnah!
Jazakumillah khairan.
