it had been at least three days since Polly had brought me back to the Shelby house and Id managed to get comfortable in one of the spare rooms. Id gotten used to the rush and the flirtatious humour that john and Arthur showed towards me and if I was being honest it was kind of comforting, Knowing that they were always there if I needed them. Polly had recently gotten her hands on some clothes in my size and got the maid to fill in my draws in the spare room.
I stood in the kitchen of the house and watched as the boys joked around before heading out to do their jobs for the company. As everyone waved goodbye and walked out the door into the street I began to turn around but bumped into someones chest. Looking up I saw John and the bright smile he had on his face since the other day when we met. "Im so sorry, you better get going with the others" I laughed off the encounter "Its actually my day off and I was hoping maybe me and you could do something?" a smile appeared on my face and I couldn't help but agree to the request.
"Ive actually been meaning to have a look around the city" straitening his jacket he linked his arm with mine and began dragging me out the door "well it looks like im going to be your escort". After driving down to the centre of the city John took me to various different shops and made jokes the whole trip. As we passed a florist I noticed a bouquet of red berry like flowers and couldn't help but turn around to have a closer look at them. "Do you like them?" John asked with a smile.
"Yes they're really pretty, they remind me of winter" I giggled, without another word John grabbed the flowers and handed some money to the lady at the counter before returning to me on the pathway.Handing the flowers to me I noticed a small blush arise on both our faces "thank you, you didn't have to buy them for me though" all John did was shrugged. "every pretty girl deserves pretty flowers" I held them close to me and admired the rich reds and fluorescent greens within the bunch. "I think we should head home now so I don't completely tire you out" he chuckled.

As we began walking down the now familiar cobble stone footpath and back to the car I reached out my hand and placed it within Johns. He'd been so kind to me over the following days and remained so friendly, it really meant a lot to me. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him looking down at our hands as we walked to the car. He then looked ahead and helped me into the car before joining me on the drivers side "Annabelle, how long do you think you'll be here for?" I shrugged my shoulders and sighed "I don't know".
