I stood at the edge of the gate that rings around the Places. "So this is goodbye." Kat said.
"For now." I nod. Jake wraps his arm around my shoulders. He pulls me closer to him.
"Well. You can go beyond that gate. That is where your new life will be." She looks down, "You are so lucky to get out. Your mo-The President wishes you well."
"Understood. Goodbye Kat." I say, looking down.
"Goodbye Acid. I wish you and Jake a merry life." Kat nods. "And deliver this to Them if you will Jake."
She slips Jake a note and he nods. "Of course I will. I swear by it."
"Good. Bye-bye baby brother."
"Goodbye Kat." Jake looks at me with a sheepish grin. "I will explain later."
What did she mean baby brother? They are related? I wasn't aware Jake even had siblings! That is the most insane out-of-this-world thing I have ever heard.
"You better." I growl at Jake.
"Hehe just tell her later Jake. It is...unsafe here." Kat says, turning on her heel.
She walks away, back to the Governments waiting for her. They escort her away, leaving us alone...in front of this wall with a tiny door. We had a key to it.
'You ready?"
"Yes."
And we walked out. Together. Like we were one.
