“Nope,” Sienna said, looking Rachel in the eyes, “can’t do this.”
“Sienna...” She tried to say but Paisley grabbed her arm, “lemme do this.” She pulled Sienna off to the side, over by where both of their wedding dresses were being stored. It was secluded off from everyone else but there were two benches across from each other.
Sienna ran her hands through her hair, breathing quickly. Paisley was thankful they hadn’t gotten their hair or makeup done yet. “Don’t you doubt this? What if your soulmate is out there, totally oblivious to the fact you’re marrying the wrong person?”
Paisley sighed, “Look at me, Sienna. You’re going to be fine. We’re both going to be fine. I know for a fact Spencer is my soul mate. He always has been.”
“What about Archer?” She demanded, “I’ve known him for ELEVEN MONTHS, Pais. How do I know he’s my soul mate? What if David’s my soulmate? What if Riley’s my soulmate?”
“Seriously, Sienna? No, you would’ve known. Riley has liked you for years and you’ve never even given it a second thought. You’ve always known you weren’t meant to be. David, he’s got someone else out there, I know it. He’s a fantastic guy, but not for you. Archer, honey, you know you’re meant to be.”
“Archer and I have never even kissed!” She shouted angrily, “How am I supposed to know if he’s the one if we’ve never kissed? Isn’t that like, the deciding factor, if you have sparks when you kiss?”
Paisley rolled her eyes, “You think sparks when you kiss decide if you are soulmates? I’m pretty sure you’re wrong, Sienna. You know you’re soulmates when you think about each other nonstop. When you remember each others little quirks no matter what. When you always want each other to be happy, no matter the cost, thats love Sienna, thats love.”
Sienna put her hands on her temples and moved them in circles. “How am I going to be the queen, Paisley? I can barely get out of bed in the morning, I’m not determined enough to rule a whole kingdom.” She broke down in soft sobs and Paisley just hugged her.
Before she could reply, they heard Rachel shout that the makeup lady was here and she was going to go because they weren’t out yet.
“Is this my Sienna I’m talking to? Because it doesn’t sound like it. If you were me in this position you would be slapping me into real life. If you think about it, could you bring yourself to marry anybody else? No, you couldn’t. So man up, Sienna. You run miles for fun, you can get married.”
Sienna sat up and smiled at Paisley, wiping away stray tears, “This is why you’re my best friend.”
“I love you, Sienna,” She replied grinning, “you’ve always known I’d be there to stop you from going insane on your wedding day.”
She let out a soft laugh, “That’s true. Thanks, Paisley.”
“Always.”
Quickly, all of their hair and makeup was done. Sienna slipped into her wedding dress which was an elegant ball gown dress. There was beading all along the top half and then the bottom half was all tule. Paisley’s dress was similar, being a ball gown, however it had a layer of sheer fabric over the top and sleeves that looked like Queen Anne’s Lace flowers.
Rachel, Aspyn, Willow and some of their new friends all had dresses that were different shades of teal, mint green and a pale blue. Sienna’s hair was in big, loose curls and Paisley’s hair was in a curly updo.
“Are you ready for this, Sien?” Paisley asked.
She grinned, “I’m getting married with my best friend by my side. Hell, yeah, I’m ready.”
