Chapter 18
Elizabeth POV
Juliana left and Tim slowly walked in. He came next to my bed and kneeled beside me. He carefully put his large hand atop mine. He looked as if he felt the slightest movement could break me.
"Thank you for saving my life."
"Isn't that what friends are for?" He tried to joke but his small smile made me realize how scared he had been, how much he cared. It all hit me right then. It was magical the way he looked at me. He looked as if he would give me the world if I asked for it. He loved me to the extreme. There is nothing he wouldn't do for me. He adored me, because of who I was. He cared for me like a man was supposed to care for his woman.
I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around him, kissing him. He was surprised but then he slowly he began kissing me back. His hand grazed the side of my face.
"Were you serious when you said you just wanted to be friends, because you’re confusing me here?"
I couldn't help but to grin. Our faces were only inches apart. "I was lying through my teeth."
He smiled. "You just couldn't resist."
"Neither could you,” I countered.
“Every night since the ball I tried to find a star in the night sky for each reason why I love you.”
“What happened?”
“I ran out of stars.”
