Deep blue

I've seen waters so pure, my eyes were convinced, my mind was still asleep. Dreaming a beautiful dream of the mighty ocean, stretched out in front of me.

I've seen waters so blue, the other colours couldn't help but bow down to. Various shades of cool, reflecting my clearest reflection on the surface, only for me to see.

I've felt the touch of a mother, I've felt the touch of a lover, yet the touch of this molten saphire made me feel a love that mended this fragile heart I was cursed, to live with.

" Will you stay here by my side, will you be here till the sun will rise?"
This liquid blessing took my hand, with the silent promise of how another hand would never again, fit the way that it fit.

I've smelled the salt in the air, tasted its sweetness on my tongue. And no other flavour had tasted this rich before.

But suddenly a dangerously high wave crashed ashore,

And I went under, into the world of the unknown.

A world without control.

Chaos filles my lungs as its icy fingers caressed my soul.

Seeping into my skin, replacing the warm red lifeforce in my veins with a bit of the earth's blue blood.

And during this flood,

as the current traveled to every corner of my body,

I saw what the ocean had seen.

I felt where the ocean had been.

We were one, as I felt the rage that had always hid beneath the calamity that it showed the eye of the ones on land .

I felt the tide in me, ready to destroy, ready to erase,

Ready to face,
that which, that would be a horror to the human race.

And as I was sinking, the spirits of the water gripped my arms, whispering tales of sunken lands and buried treasures. Telling me the stories of sailors who chased their own death.

They stripped me bare and turned me blue.

" Now you are me and I am you."

So, I told you, I've seen waters so pure, my eyes were convinced, my mind was still asleep. Dreaming a beautiful dream of the mighty ocean, stretched out in front of me.

But that dream soon turned into a nightmare,

For once the tide went through me, I realised, the water was,

what I had always feared.
