Chapter Twenty: Because Of You

Sora's POV

"Oh yeah. Of course. Sorry for offending you, your highness." I said, rolling my eyes.

"How did you know?" Jin said, his eyes getting bigger.

"Know what?" 

"That I'm Royalty." Jin brought out and my jaw dropped again.

"Are you serious?" I asked, closing my mouth. I lost count of how many times I had to close my mouth again. 

"No, I'm Jin." Jin cackled and I smacked his tail, which still surprised me because of the cold scales. I still wasn't used to Jin having a tail, I mean I'm still expecting to wake up from a dream. 

"Okay, you are a mermai-..merman and you are also Royalty. Is there more?" 

I looked at his tail again and still couldn't believe it completely, even though it was happening right in front of me.

I looked at Jin who was smiling brightly. I wanted to smile back but a sissing sound made me crawl to the back. I looked at the water next to me, expecting something to come out. Then I saw something change in my eye corner and I snapped my head back to Jin's tail. The sissing sound came from his tail and I gaped at how the scales slowly started to melt away, as if they were disappearing into the tail itself. It looked as if the tail was burning away, slowly making place for two muscular legs.

I realised he was going to be naked and I started to scream.

"AAAAAH!!" I shut my eyes close and fell backwards, the back of my head hitting the concrete floor.

"Sora? Are you okay?!" Jin yelled while I kept groaning in pain. Why did I have to react like this? 

"Yes, I'm okay. Please just go wear something. I'll be fine." 

I felt Jin hesitating. My eyes were still tightly shut, scared to see something that will cause a lot of awkwardness.

I heard Jin stepping away and I breathed out in relief when his footsteps got more far away. I opened my eyes and looked at the ceiling.

I realised I was looking at the ceiling of a cave. The cracks and fractures that were visible gave me a feeling that it could break any moment. Stalactites were as sharp as a knife and some were very big. Others were slightly smaller. None of them dripped water, only the ones that were above the sea entrance.

I looked to my left, at the 'pool' that was right in front of the living room, where I was lying. It was very complex and I had no idea how Jin managed to bring all this stuff here and make the floor out of concrete. 

If mermaids exist, then wizards must exist too.

"He did it with magic.."

"Not really, I just have a lot of money. You can do a lot with money." I heard Jin behind me.

I turned around and saw him smiling at me. His legs were covered by black trousers and he was wearing a white, loose shirt that had a few too many buttons opened.

I started to bite my lip, imagining how I unbuttoned the rest of his shirt. My imagination went wild again and I pinched myself trying to keep a straight face while looking at Jin. 

Sora, you just found out he is a mermaid and all you are thinking about is jumping him. I shook my head and tried to get up. Jin came running to me and helped me stand up. 

"Here, a towel. You can go change in the bathroom. I placed some pyjamas that may fit you."

"Ooh.." I tried not to seem too excited to wear his clothes again.
