Sora's POV
"Miss?" I chuckled nervously when I saw her blood red eyes looking directly into my own eyes. It felt as if she wanted to devour my soul in such a gruesome way.
I knew there were monsters in the ocean but she was the most beautiful monster I've could imagine. "Sora, funny how you are named after a shell. Soon enough you also will be nothing but an empty shell." The woman giggled and that's when I knew I was really in danger but she also had a bad sense of humor. Her voice made each hair stand straight on my body. She wanted blood and her eyes and voice told me it would be mine.
I tried to think of a way to get out while trying to seem calm. The pool was already a bad idea, I couldn't swim and she would be even more powerful in her own natural element. I could run to one of the rooms but it was also not a good idea. There should be a way out but it was a big risk to start searching for it now.
"Looking for a way out?" She purred, tilting her head. She was a cat and I was a mouse trapped between her vicious claws ready to get consumed.
"Nono, I am just wondering who you are. Care to introduce yourself? How come you know my name?" I tried to prolong my life as much as possible to think of a way out or a way to survive.Dammit! Just when Jin and I were getting better. My heart started hurting when I thought of Jin. I'd never see him again if I die. I missed him so much and now this had to happen.
Is this why he was gone for so long? Because of monsters like the creature in front of me? "I am, or better was, Jin's fiancee until you came into the picture and he decided to call it off. Now you see, I like Jin a lot. Not because of his personality but because he possesses a power I would like to get too. He's also a very handsome merman so that's a plus for me." She started talking and I knew immediately I could make her talk more."What kind of power?" I asked, trying to sound curious. I was curious for a bit but I was more panicking about my life.
"The power to rule all oceans, my dear Sora." She spat out. Her eyes that were still red became even a brighter red. It was as if I could see hell hiding in her eyes ready to burn me into ashes."I d-don't understand." I stuttered. No Sora! Don't show her your fear. I knew she could feel my fear and would feed on it if I gave it away. She was a demon, I knew for sure. "I am greedy for power. I want the oceans to bow down for me. I don't care about the petty humans who always live on land and can't even breathe underwater for more than a few minutes. Pathetic." She spat out.
"Are you not in their form right now?" I said and I bit my tongue when I realised what I said. Way to go Sora, now you angered the big, bad demon. "Ahahahaa, you want to play smart with me?" She showed me her sharp teeth and I realised I needed to get away from her as soon as possible.
She took a few steps towards me, confidence surrounding her, because I was a weak prey. She was the strong predator, one move and my neck would be in her beautiful claws. Her evil smile would be the last thing I'd see before she snapped my vulnerable neck.
Humans were weak, I thought still looking for a way out. I started to give up when suddenly I felt something throbbing in my body. But it wasn't my heart, it was as if my soul was starting to show its presence.
Telling me to not give up on life.
Jin, where are you when I need you? Tears welled up in my eyes while the throbbing in me got stronger. I made sure to curse him out if I survived this shit. Who doesn't place a gate in their fucking house?
All of a sudden I felt some sort of invisible force pulling me slowly to the back. I took a few steps back down into the hall without breaking eye contact with the crazy power-hungry devil who was still watching me. She was amused, sure of my defeat. She was playing me like I was her toy until I was too tired so she could make me close my eyes forever.
