We had a strong routine of classes so we decided to start all these asking-stuff from Friday after classes; the first person would be Derek, as we think he would be the easiest person to talk to.
At Starbucks
"Hey girls." He stood up gave both of us a light hug and we sat down; he had ordered 3 coffee which was still on order, so we thought of starting all of it now. Alexa suggested me in the car that if I would talk it would be good as Derek won't take it hard on me and if he loses his adrenal, he won't show it out.
"Is this hangout or another fact knowing session?" He said playfully.
"It is a question answer session actually. You answer 'yes' or 'no' and no further explanation till I ask you to give. Ok Derek, please?" I said looking at him right in the face. He nodded his head to that, I guess he got the drill.
"Do you know any Dustin Fernando?"
His face went blank to that, and he was silent as he had lost his voice.
"Erm, nope."
"Really Derek?" I asked again, thinking that he would change his mind.
"No."
"Okay", I nodded down and asked, "Then Rachael Cox?"
"Wait what?" He twisted his brows and gave a confused look as it was really unexpected for him.
"This is crazy, who did you guys talk to? How do you even know her? Did you see her; you know her?" Derek started creasing up at this.
"Derek?"
"Where did you----" He bursted out in tears and left the table, paid the bill and left the café.
I don't know why I felt bad at this, as I never saw him cry so bad. He was looking like as if he got reminded of some awful past and all this because of me. I was feeling guilty because of all this as I really didn't want to hurt his feelings.
