Ever since the book, fights were fought and lessons were learned. But Ezra skipped town just as Aria had settled with him. She was pissed at first but that anger eventually turned into wanting him back. She called him everyday whilst waiting for him to come back, just to know if he was safe.
Everyday she called him, during school, when she got home, when she was with her friends...everywhere. It was the same message everyday:
"Ezra, it's me again. Please call me, I need to know if you're okay. Tell me the second you get back please..."
Aria was sat in her English class with yet another cover teacher. She missed him, so much so she could barely sit through a lesson without seeing him. She sat at her desk with her head in her hands as a tear fell from her eye, she tried everything in her to not have an anxiety attack but failed as her breath was taking away and replaced with panic.
She stepped outside as more tears left her eyes, Spencer followed after as she walked to the toilers. She shut the door to a stall and leant against it, pushing her fingers through her hair, trying to breathe.
"Aria, is everything okay?" Spencer asked, unknown that Ezra was gone.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just a moment" Aria replied, trying to contain herself.
"Okay, we will be in class in you need us" Spencer replied before walking out. As the door closed Aria slid down the cubicle door until she was sat on the fllor, she took a deep breath before reaching into her bag for her phone, she dialled a number and waited for the voicemail tone.
"Hi, you have reached Ezra, wait for the beep. You know what to do." The voicemail message of Ezra's voice said. Aria smiled at hearing his voice slighty.
"Ezra, please, I need you. Just call me or tell me how you are, please. I need to know you're safe..." This message was the same as the others but this time she felt the need to confess.
"I love you and I need you please Ezra, call me" Aria finished as the beep went signifying the end of the call.
She took a deep breathe before walking back into the class room after splashing cold water on her face. She returned to her seat and 10 minutes later the bell went signifying class was over, she walked out and to her locker as her friends approached her.
"Hey, why did you run out of class? Is everything okay?" Emily asked suttley. Aria looked her in the eye whilst trying to decide whether to be honest or lie once again. She began shaking her head.
"No, not really" Aria replied quietly. A small tear left her eye.
"Aria, you can tell us" Spencer added.
"It's erm....It's Ezra" She replied, looking at the ground trying to hold back more tears. She needed him with her.
"He...I can't find him anywhere, and I really don't want you guys to judge me but I need him" Aria continued. The girls looked at each other before glancing back at Aria.
"We are guessing you have called him, so how about we go to his apartment now and see if there is anything there?" Hanna asked, Aria was quite surprise that she came up with such a good idea first but then agreed as they walked to Spencer's car.
Emily stopped as they reached the stairs outside the school and stared at a grey car which just pulled. Hanna and Spencer stopped shortly after but Aria took a few more steps before stopping as a familiar figure got out of the car.
"Aria, go...now" Hanna said, as pushed her back slightly. Aria stepped forward, down the stairs as the person walked towards the school, unnoticed by the fact that Aria was walking towards them.
When he did notice her, he smiled as he stopped. So did she, stopped. Her head tilted as another tear left her eye. It was him. He walked closer to her and as he reached her, he lifted her up, hugging her. But once he put her down it all came out.
"Where have you been?" Aria asked, he wiped her tear before replying.
"I went away to think and give you space after..." He replied.
"Did you get my voicemails?" Aria replied.
"I left my phone in my desk, it was stupid of me but I wanted to come back sooner" Ezra added. Aria looked at him for a moment, and yes things were difficult and they weren't together but she loved him.
In that very moment, Aria stepped forward and kissed him. Sparks flew between them as their soft lips touched, his hands moved up her back as he leant down to kiss her. He held her close as she wrapped her arms around him. He pulled her body against his creating more heat between them. They smiled during the kiss, settling their minds; just knowing her was their made her smile.
They broke apart, but still head their heads closer. Ezra moved his hands to her face, they smiled as their heads touched.
"I will never leave again, I promise" Ezra said after the kiss.
"I love you" Aria replied.
