21. Blood Pledge

It's been whole 30 minutes since I've been sitting down, might I add very impatiently and full of worry. Dr. Kate came and her face didn't show too much but her eyes reflected sadness and I couldn't help but think the worst.

"Is Amelia okay?" I asked with my voice full of hope. She sighed and gently shook her head before replying.

"She has lost too much blood, King. And the fact she is malnourished is also an issue. I have tried everything I could but the results are not seen."

I crumbled down on a chair and my wolf howled loudly, so loudly that everyone winced as they could hear it in mind link.

"No, No, No. She cannot, she can't. I just got her. Do something Kate please do something. "

"Don't say please, King. I'll try to do something, I need more time. I'll try to something, I promise" she promised and went. While I noticed Bren nod at Macy and went somewhere. I ignored it and Macy came and sat beside me.

"Eros everything will be alright" she consoled me.

"How? She is... " I almost sobbed.

"She will be fine. Bren and Dr. Kate had gone to search, we will heal her. Don't lose faith, you are a King, Eros."

I took a deep breath and prayed to the moon goddess that she would make my mate heal.

"Can I go and see her, it might calm my wolf?" I asked her.

"Yes, go" she allowed me.

I slowly walked to her room and opened and my breath stuck. There played my beautiful mate on the bed with wires stuck in her arms. Her face pale, her lips lost their redness. Her body too skinny. And seeing her like this made me and my wolf broke down into tears. The last time I shed a tear was when my parents died when I was fifteen.

I sat beside, held her cold hand and the tears ran through my eyes.

"Amelia, beautiful please open your eyes. I want no, I need to look into your ocean eyes. I need to feel your warmness against me. I need to feel your lips against mine. Please, Amelia, open your eyes. Fight for me. Please, I can't live without you. You need to heal. What will happen to me without you? Please fight it. " I said and cried and so did my wolf. I shifted into my wolf and laid my head on her hand while still shedding some tears.

I don't know how long I stayed in my wolf form beside Amelia. It was interrupted by Bren. I shifted back and he handed me some shorts to cover my lower half. He came and gave me the news that I was ecstatic to hear.

"Eros, I found a way. But it could be risky" he said.

"What is it. I'll do anything to see Amelia living again"

"Blood pledge," he said. And I suddenly remembered it. In this, I need to give my blood to her and I had to drink her blood, and while pledging that our lives are joined and if she dies then so do I. And I could heal her with my blood. It is risky as even I could lose my life if she dies but without her, I would already die so I agreed instantly.

"I would do it," I said confidently.

"You sure?"

"Without her, I would already die. She already has my life. And this is the only way to heal her and save her. I cannot mark her as she isn't strong, even though my mark could heal her, her body has to be strong to bear it. So this is the only way." 

He nodded and went out and gave me and my mate to continue the ceremony.

I held her hand and whispered in her ear "I'll heal you, Mi Amor " and kissed her cheek.

I took a knife and made a cut on my wrist and placed it on her mouth and opened it and slowly blood flowed inside her mouth while I said "I, Eros Kings pledge my life to my mate Amelia Queens. My life is now yours. If you die so do I. I pledge my loyalty to you. My blood could heal any wound, bruise, disease known to mankind. I pledge with my blood. I pledge I pledge" I completed and cut her wrist and drank her little blood and with this our blood is now one. I felt my energy leaving my body and going to her through the blood. My blood had started to heal her. I removed her wrist from my mouth and mine from her mouth. And after a few seconds, her body jolted up. Her heart rate increased. I yelled for Dr. Kate. She came running and pushed me out of the room.

And once again I waited. Have I done something wrong? Please tell me Moon goddess that I didn't worsen the situation. Please, goddess. I prayed. While my wolf went completely and utterly silent, numb. I haven't seen him this silent. He always makes some sarcastic, witty comment to lighten the mood but now he is so silent it is almost scary.

After 10 minutes, Dr. Kate came with a small smile. And I let out a sigh of relief, it had to be good news and finally, I could breathe properly and not feel suffocated.

"How is she?" I asked.

"She is now healing as your blood did its work. Her heartbeat increased as her body identified that this is not her blood but now both the blood is mixed and the healing property in your blood is doubling and spreading in her blood cells. So, she would heal" she explained to us. And a smile appeared on my face.

"So when is she going to wake up?"

"I don't know" she answered.

And my smile disappeared. "What do you mean, you don't know?" I asked loudly.

"Because I don't really know. For her to heal, her body has to be in peace and in no movement so her body slipped into a coma. And she will be in a coma until she is healed or strong enough for making some movement. It all depends on her body. "

And with this, my hope deflated and the frown appeared on my face. But I nodded my head.

"She will be fine, King. Have faith. You could go and visit her. I think both of you would be in peace if you stay beside her. " she advised and left.

I was about to leave but saw Bren, Macy, Jack, and some of my warriors sitting or standing. I haven't noticed them before.

"You all can go and rest. I'll be here. Bren and Jack you need to keep the pack safe and also do the duties. I trust both of you, don't disappoint me" I told them firmly. All of them nodded and went while I went to my mate.

Now her face was brightened a bit and her body a little healthier, these changes wouldn't be visible to any humans but we could detect it. And I prayed that she would heal fast.

I sat beside her and held her hand. And bent down and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. "Get well soon, Mi Amor. "
