Scott followed Malia upstairs and showed her to the bathroom. He ran her a bath, careful not make the water too hot or cold and left a towel on the rack for when she got out. Scott watched her get in to make sure she didn't fall again.
When he made sure she was alright, he left the bathroom silently, dreading what he knew he needed to while Malia was taking a bath. As he turned to close the door behind him, he caught Malia looking at him. Feeling colour rise in his cheeks when his eyes accidentally slipped under her collarbone, he turned away.
"Pervert." She muttered and he whipped his head back to her, despite his flushed cheeks.
"I wasn't-" He began.
"Face the facts pretty boy, you weren't being subtle at all." She rolled her eyes and Scott watched her squeeze more shower gel than needed into her palm and rub it into her arms.
"My eyes just slipped, that's all." Scott muttered, more to himself than to Malia. He turned around to leave the bathroom once more, his face still warm.
"Uh... Scott." A small voice said from behind him.
Scott turned his head slightly. "Yes?"
A short silence, broken by a murmur.
"Thank you."

Scott bit his lip as he paced his room, phone in hand. Malia had been in the bath for a while now and despite wanting to, he decided it best that he didn't check on her. She'd been on his mind ever since he left the bathroom half an hour ago and he knew it wasn't good. He kept seeing her beautiful brown eyes looking up at him when he'd first caught her and remembering what it had felt like to hold her. You have a girlfriend Scott told himself for what felt like the hundredth time as his pacing quickened. Malia would probably be out of the bath soon. So he had to do it now. Scott dialled the number he had come to know so well and put the phone to his ear. After two rings, the call was answered.
"Scott?!" Screamed a voice from the other end of the phone before Scott could even say hello to his girlfriend.
"Yes it's me Allison." Scott sighed loudly, partly because Allison's voice was already starting to give him a headache and partly because he knew he was about to get in a lot of trouble.
"Where the hell have you been that you haven't been able to pick up your phone for the past two hours?" It was more of a shout than a question.
"Allison something-" Scott was cut off by a screech of "I don't want to here it Scott!"
He clenched his fists and sat down on the bed. "Let me explain Allison." Scott said, his voice frayed with impatience. But Allison was having none of it.
"I don't want to hear whatever crap excuse you have Scott; I know you could've picked up my calls but you didn't!" Allison shouted through the phone, her voice cracking slightly.
"How could you know that?" Scott said, his voice rising to a shout.
"Because I saw you at the animal clinic with th-that thing!" Allison cried before bursting into tears and hanging up.
Scott threw his phone down and put his head in his hands. She'd called Malia a 'thing' and Scott felt strangely angered by that. Very angered in fact. But he shouldn't be. "I have a girlfriend." He muttered weakly, not even sure what 'girlfriend' meant anymore.
"No need to remind us all." Said a voice and Scott jumped when he saw Malia standing by the door, her hair damp and a towel wrapped around her body.
I know I haven't updated in ages but yeah I've been feeling sick most of this week and had no interest in writing. But I am feeling better now and came back with a longer chapter than usual which I hope you enjoyed.
Much love, x_JugheadsBeanie_x
