Enid's POV

I was watching people pass or sleep or sipping coffee from their cups. I groaned, knowing that I needed that too, but could not get up as Aiden's head was on my lap. Some middle aged woman was sobbing and I guessed that that was her husband who was holding her hand tightly to assure her.

I looked down at Aiden. Maybe we could be like them someday - sitting in the park, holding hands, talking about our future, or children or about our children's future. If that never happened, I'll always be by his and his better half's side, always, no matter who that would be.

The sky was getting clearer by every minute. Each moment it was beautiful. I always found watching sunrise one of the most beautiful things, although I was never a early riser. I should make Aiden watch one too.

I could feel myself getting sleepy. The thing that helped me falling asleep the most was Aiden's peaceful face and the warmth radiating from him.

When my eyes open, I was greeted with the busy hospital area. Doctors and interns with nurses were on their way to their duties. Then I saw Aiden coming towards me with my burning eyes, a cup in his hand. He smiled at me and I smiled back.

"Hey, morning." He greeted me. I chuckled.

"Morning? Is it still morning?" He handed me the coffee cup.

He hummed. "It's almost nine o'clock. So, yeah, still morning."

Not even three hours sleep was not enough for me. I took a sip from the coffee and grimaced. "Not what I wanted, but this will work for now."

"I know." He smiled warmly at me and kissed my cheeks.

"Where's yours?" I took a sip again to hide my blush behind the cup than to really wanted to taste it as a nurse from the nurse desk looked at us.

"I already had it."

"I think we should go and check on Dri." I suggested, knowing he might want to do that.

"I already did. The nurse said that the doctor would be here soon. Then, we can ask him."

"Oh, okay." I was kinda disappointed.

"Listen, you should go home. Get some proper sleep and shower. Then, come back here to be with me." He suggested as he took my hand in his and rubbed his thumb on the back of the hand in a soothing manner.

I did not know what he was assuring me about, that he would be here, he would be okay if I go or that I had no fear if I leave him with Dri here.

I wanted to hit my self and face palm so that I would never be able to show this face to anyone.

Of course, he would never cheat on me. And most of all, how could I think like that about someone who had been in an accident and on a hospiral bed right now?

I wanted to smack myself, but only smile at Aiden in return.

"It's okay. I'm fine. I think you're emotionally more tired than I am. So, you should go and freshen up." I told him.

He put his forehead against mine and sighed out. I so badly wanted to kiss him, but pulled apart as soon as we heard giggles.

We looked in front of us, only to see three nurses were looking at us and whispering among themselves, I wanted to roll my eyes. It was not long before a doctor stopped in front of us gaining our attention.

"Are you from the family of miss Dri Lakewood?" The doctor asked.

"Yes, actually, her parents are out of town, or country, probably." I replied. "We're her classmates."

"I wanted to talk to her family, but... Aiden would also do." He said as he looked up from the clipboard he held in his hand.

Aiden? How did he know about Aiden? And why would Aiden do? What did he mean? A billion questions were roaming in my head, making it buzz.

"What do you mean?" I did not have to question him.

"I'll only tell him that." He smiled tightly.

"I'm Aiden. What do you wanna say?" He stood up.

The doctor eyed me before he gestured for Aiden to follow him. "Come with me to my office."

Aiden looked at me once. "Just wait for me. I'll come back soon." He said before following the doctor into his office.

"Okay." I replied, but I was not sure if he heard me at all.

I sighed out loud as it was the only thing I could do besides waiting for him. I put my head in my hand and thought, what's going on?
