Next Day
When I wake up in the morning Heck's gone. I sit up and wince at the pain in my legs and back and well just about everywhere. I grab a pair of shorts and a sugar lip and when I'm puting them on I see Heck out on the balcony. I smile a little and open the door. He turns around and he smiles at me. I lean onto the door and give him a small smile back.
"How are you feeling?" He asks me softly. I shrug and wave him off.
"Is Cass up?" I ask him.
"Yeah. She said she was going to some book store. Carlos gave her a ride." I nod. "I guess she wanted to give us some time alone." I laugh.
"I think we could use a little bit more of that." He chuckles. "Come on. I'll make you breakfast." I start to protest. "No, I'll make it. After the burning of the cookies I don't want a repeat."
"It was just cookies Holly. I can cook....somewhat. I'll make breakfast and you can watch me carefully just to make sure I don't screw anything up. Ok?" I nod slowly. "Alright." He comes over and kisses my head before pulling me inside.
When we are almost done with breakfast Cassie's back with dounuts. I smile at her when she comes in. She looks at me wierdly and then sits the dounuts down.
"What did I miss? Heck's cooking and your watching and the place isn't burning down and you two look super happy and everything seems peachy ken. What the hell's going on?" I bite my lip and laugh.
"Shut up." I mutter. "It just so happens that someone woke up on the right side of the bed today instead of the wrong." She sticks her toungue out at me.
"You know I ran into Logan at the store. He's a pain in my arse. I'm starting to think he's following me. Heck please speak to your friend." Heck laughs.
"I'll get right on that." He says. "In the mean time I am going to go shower."
"What about breakfast?" I ask. He hands me the spachula.
"Pancakes are done. Eggs are on the stove and the bacon, well you have already ate. Just finish the eggs." He kisses my cheek and retreats. I shake my head and continue stirring the eggs. I hum as I cook the eggs. I hum the song my mom use to sing to me.
"Why are you so happy?" Cassie asks. I look at her and she raises an eyebrow.
"Nothing, I just had a good night is all." She nods skeptically. I wanna find the right moment to tell her. I clear my throat and look at her. "About you and Logan. Why won't you give him a chance?" She shrugs. "I know you don't really trust people much but he's a good guy. The night he was drunk he helped me get you to the car. He's a really sweet guy and he likes you. Come on." She roles her eyes. "Please, for me." She bites her lip and throws a dounut at me.
"Whatever." I smile and stick my toungue out at her.
When were done eating Heck comes out and I hand him his plate.
"I have to leave in a little bit but for right now I am yours." I frown. He kisses my head and sits down. "I got a call from Logan...he wants you to meet him at the book store you ran into him at." I smile at her and she just frowns. "Come on. He just got there. If you get there now you won't miss the coffee." She bites her lip.
"Fine, but only because I know your trying to get rid of me and because I love coffee and Ms. Lovestruck here didn't make any." I laugh as she grabs her bag and then she leaves. I smile and go over and sit on Heck's lap.
"I think he's good for her." I say as I snuggle my face in his neck.
"Yeah." I sit up straight and stand up.
