Chapter 8

Time skip a few days

Over the last few days I had been going to my sessions at the hospital and I could not get around mostly on my own I just needed help sometimes. We didn't really leave the house at all unless it was to go to the hospital because going around tired me out too much. Kakashi and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie when a hawk circled around outside our window
"Looks like Lord Third summoned us" Kakashi said getting up and reaching a hand to help me. I took it and we started making our way to the door.. I was a bit wobbly. We got a few weird looks when we walked down the street because halfway there I needed to wrap an arm around Kakashi to keep myself up. After what seemed like forever we reached the hokage building.. I was panting slightly. When we got to the stairs I groaned and buried my face in Kakashi's shoulder still breathing heavy and he just chuckled
"You have to do it Sayuri.. it will help with your recovery I know it hurts but after this meeting we can get ice cream" He whispered into my ear and I immediately perk up and start walking up the stairs holding tight to the railing. When I finally got up the stairs Kakashi chuckled and moved to knock on the door while I rested my hands on my knees
"Come in" Came a voice, but it was not Lord Thirds. Kakashi and I glanced at each other before going in and finding Minato Sensei sitting at the Hokage's desk... In a Hokage robe.. Just then my knees gave out and I fell face first on the floor
"UGhhhhh phmmpphh mehmmph mehhh" I murmured a string of half hearted curses and gibberish into the floor. I could hear Kakashi laughing behind me but I also heard the sound of heavier footsteps and Minato easily picked me up off the floor standing me up
"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly as he kept a hand on me to keep me standing.. Kakashi was still giggling like a child behind me
"Eah it happens a few times a day.. Kakashi keeps offering to get me a helmet" I pouted puffing out my cheek slightly. He caught me most of the time.. But when he didn't he thought it was the funniest thing in the world.. Although I can't really blame him because if he was the one falling on his face I would be laughing. Minato nodded and walked back to his desk and leaned on it facing us
"Wait why are you here sensei?" Kakashi asked and Minato just blinked at us who had finally stopped laughing.
"I'm the Hokage" He said simply as if it was the most obvious thing in the world and I came dangerously close to falling again but Kakashi quickly grabbed around my waist to keep me up right
"What?!" We both said in unison
"Where have you guys been? I got sworn in as Hokage yesterday.. Lord Third thought it was time for him to step down.. How did my own students miss me becoming Hokage.." He said with a pout but I cheered
"That's so cool! Our sensei became Hokage!! I'm so sorry Minato sensei for missing your celebration.. We haven't really left the house it takes a lot for me to walk around the village" I said scratching the back of my neck.. A habit I had picked up from Kakashi who was all too happy whenever I did it
"Sorry sensei" kakashi added standing slightly behind me with his hands on my waist to stop me from falling again
"It's okay you two, I understand completely.. I am just surprised you are on your feet so soon Sayuri.. You weren't in the best shape last I saw you" Minato said and I smiled leaning on each of my feet
"I never thanked you properly for that.. You saved my life..so thank you for getting me to the hospital so fast. Also can you thank Kushina for the picture because I know that was her" I said grinning
"I'm glad I could help you and of course she thought you would like it. Anyways I do have a reason I summoned you here.. I want you to both become Anbu under my direct order.. As soon as you are able to resume your duties of course" He said
"Would Kakashi and I go on missions together?" I asked quickly
"Of course you two work flawlessly together" He said and I grinned looking to Kakashi
"Okay sensei" Kakashi said with a slight bow and Minato smiled widely.
"That was all you two.. Kakashi you better keep taking care of Sayuri" Minato said and Kakashi nodded quickly and I smiled
"Thanks sensei" I said and gave him a little wave before heading out the door. We made our way down the street hand in hand but Kakashi stopped suddenly and I didn't realize so he almost brought me crashing to the ground. He quickly moved his hand to press against my lower back to stop me from tumbling over
"What?" I asked turning to face him after I righted myself
"I have yet to take you on a real date" He said as if I should have guessed that immediately
"Oh.. do you have something in mind?" I asked curiously
"Yes.. let's go shopping for you" He said as he started to pull me along the streets
"Why do we need to go shopping? You know I don't like shopping unless it's for food" I whined as I followed him
"Well you need a nice outfit.. You can't go in sweats a t shirt" he said and it was my turn to come to a dead stop
"Nu uhh I am not wearing a dress.. Don't make me" I pleaded putting my hands together sticking out my lower lip
"Yes.. come on Sayu please...You always wear baggy clothes" He said and I puffed out my cheek
"Fine" I grumbled and he happily started dragging me to a dress store
After about thirty minutes and several dresses later I was looking in the mirror with a stupid grin. It was a simple strapless white dress with a light green underlay that was slightly longer than the white of the dress. There was a light green bow around my waist that tied in the back and at the bottom along the white there was an intricate design of Sakura flowers. The dress hugged the little bit of curve my eleven year old body had and it dropped down to about my mid thigh. I twirled around and figured out how to finish the look with the dress in my head
"Sayu are you going to stay in there all day or do I get to see it?" Kakashi grumbled from the other side of the door
"You can see it later" I said in a sing song voice as I started to take my dress off
"What? Why?" He whined
"It's a surprise you will see tonight yeah?" i teased as I put back on normal clothes. I heard him groan and giggled as I walked out of the room. After we checked out and left the store we started to head home but I thought of something else I needed
"Hey I will meet you at home I need to get one more thing before tonight" I said and he gave me a confused look that mixed with the worry in his eyes
"What else do you need? And what if you fall?" He asked and I shrugged
"It's not as if you are the only person in this village that is nice if anything happens I'm sure someone will help me but I will be fine I promise" I said and gave him a kiss on his masked cheek before turning and walking back down the street. I made my way to a makeup store that I had seen before and when I went in I raised an eyebrow at all the stuff they had. The first thing that caught my eye though was a necklace-wrap thing that was the same exact color green as my dress. I walked over and picked it up before making my way to the eyeshadow section. I hadn't ever worn makeup but I went on a few missions over the years as backup for a seduction mission and I normally helped out with putting on the woman on my squads makeup. I walked over and picked up a simple palette of eyeshadow that consisted of browns and blacks then got black eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. Satisfied with my choices I checked out and made my way home. Ten minutes later I was opening the front door of my house with my little bag in hand
"I'm back.. And before you ask.. No I didn't fall but I came dangerously close to" I said with a little giggle to myself as I shut the door.
"Well that's good to hear" Kakashi said as he stood from the couch and gave me a kiss on the nose through his mask
"I planned the rest of the night while you were gone and it's almost dinner now so if you plan on taking a while to get ready you should start now" He said and I laughed and nodded grabbing the bag that had my dress in it and walking off to the bathroom. I pulled out the makeup and started to get to work. After my makeup was up to my standards I started to curl my hair before putting half of it up in a ponytail. Then I slipped on the dress and tied on the necklace. I checked myself out in the mirror and smiled widely
"Oi Kakashi are you ready to go?" I called through the door
"Yeah just waiting for you" He said back and I giggled before opening the door. He was sitting on the couch with his.. Well my book in hand. He was wearing one of his tight deep blue shirts that had a mask attached and he had a black blazer and black pants.. I had a sneaking suspicion that he either ran to the store after we separated to go get those or he got some of Minato's old clothes... either way he looked great.
Kakashi's Pov:
I flipped a page in Icha Icha Paradise then I heard her call to see if I was ready. I looked up when I heard the door open and my book slipped out of my hand as I gaped at her.. I had never seen her wear a dress before and I mentally made a note to have her wear them more often. It showed off her long pale legs and the curve of her slender waist. The dress was white and had a green bow and underlay that made her green eyes more vibrant. Her hair was lightly curled and half up which looked wonderful because when it was often in a ponytail or messy bun. I looked at her beautiful green eyes and by breath caught in my throat when I realized she had makeup on that made her eyes look even bigger than normal. Of course I wanted to say how gorgeous she looked but the only thing that came out of my mouth was a strange gurgling sound. She laughed that beautiful laugh that made my heart swell as she walked over and put a finger under my chin to close my mouth with a big grin plastered on her face. She seemed really amused by the fact that I couldn't say anything and her eyes were taunting me. I opened my mouth to prove her wrong and win the silent contest that was going on between our gazes but this time was no better than the last time I tried
"U-uh mm Say-u -cough cough-" she cut me off with a loud fit of giggles that made me turn my head to the side and pout
"Aw come on Kakashi don't pout it's not really my fault that you seem to be malfunctioning" She said as she poked my puffed out cheek. I felt weight across my legs and I looked up to see her sitting on my lap with a wide smile swinging her legs slightly. I pulled down my mask and wrapped my arms around her small waist to pull her closer so I could press my lips to hers. She squeaked in surprise but quickly wrapped her arms around my neck. I seemed to get my confidence back because as soon as I pulled back I looked her straight in her big beautiful green eyes
"You look absolutely stunning Sayuri.. You literally knocked the wind out of me and took away my words" I said confidently and I saw her eyes light up as she hugged me tighter burying her face in my neck
Sayuri's pov:
I giggled against his bunched up mask that covered his neck
"You really think so? I never wear makeup and I don't wear my hair down that much but-" I started
"You should wear your hair down more often it looks great" He cut me off quickly and I grinned
"You look pretty sharp yourself Kakashi" I said kissing his unmasked nose
"Are you ready to head out?" He asked and I nodded standing from his lap
"Yes" I said excitedly jumping on my toes slightly. He grabbed my hand and led me to the door and outside. First he led me down the street and to a restaurant I had only ever walked past because it seemed to expensive.
"Kakashi I would be happy going somewhere cheaper" I said worriedly but he just laughed
"Stop worrying I want to take you somewhere nice" he said and I smiled leaning into him more. We ate a wonderful meal before going out to walk around the village. We came across Gai and I got him to take a picture of Kakashi and I. The picture was adorable.. He stood behind me with his hands on my waist with his head to the side of mine. I made him take his headband up so I could see his eyes but he kept them closed for his smile. After we took the picture we ended up just taking the long way home and ended up just falling asleep soon after.
