Kakashi x OC Book one

Chapter 9

Time skip to 10.10 (About a year)

Over the last year I went on missions with Kakashi and of course we worked seamlessly. After about four months of doing odd missions Kakashi and I were assigned to keep Kushina safe now that she was pregnant. Kakashi was to watch from the shadows while I was supposed to be by Kushina's side at all times. Kakashi and I were finally able to get a bigger apartment that had a livingroom and a separate bedroom. We scrapped the idea of getting a two bedroom apartment because we liked sleeping next to each other. We did however now have a large bookshelf that had a section devoted to the Icha Icha books. Tonight Kakashi and I had off because tonight was the night Kushina gave birth to baby Naruto and they had a whole Anbu entourage with them. So instead of working we were walking down to Ichiraku Ramen with Gai to get dinner.

"Do you sense something weird? Like a chill in the air?" Kakashi asked as he stopped suddenly

"THe only thing chilly here is your attitude!" Gai yelled but I glanced at Kakashi and nodded letting him know that I felt it too. Ignoring the rest of Gai's rant I looked around to see if anyone else noticed but it seemed that Kakashi and I were the only ones. Just then there was a large puff of smoke near the Uchiha compound and a blood curdling roar ripped through the warm air. Out of the puff of smoke I saw two blazing red eyes and when the smoke cleared there stood the Nine Tailed Fox.

"Curse you Nine Tails!!" Gai yelled

"No no no Kushina! Kakashi that means something happened to Kushina" I yelled panicking as I turned to face him. I felt tears prick my eyes as I thought of how close I had become to Kushina after the last nine months. I went shopping with her, I cooked with her, I even went to her appointments with her if Minato absolutely couldn't leave the office.. She had become my best friend aside from Kakashi

"It will be okay Sayuri.. Minato will protect her no matter what" Kakashi muttered as he placed his palm against my back in a comforting way.

"You are to meet in the guard room.. Lord Third's orders!" a jonin yelled as he ran past us to fight the fox. We made our way to the guard room but it had been destroyed and several kids our age were in the woods behind it. We went over and stood with the group listening as Mr. Yuhi told us that we weren't to join the fight we were told we were too young..

"Kakashi I can sense it.. It's bad" I whispered to Kakashi but just then I sensed Minato and Kushina's chakras spike and then quickly start to fade and I realized that with the way there chakra was plummeting.. They were dying. Without a second thought I grabbed Kakashi's arm tightly and made a handsign to focus my chakra to Minato's kunai. We hadn't teleported right to Minato's side but instead right outside the barrier that was made of Kushina's chakra chains.

"Kushina!! Minato!!" I cried out as I pressed my palms to the barrier and looked at the scene in front of me. Inside the barrier there was the Nine Tails and one of his hands was reaching out and a claw was piercing straight through both Minato and Kushina. They both looked up at the sound of my voice and Minato gave us a sad smile while Kushina just sobbed. Minato did a few handsigns that I recognized as a sealing jutsu and the Nine Tails was sucked into the infant that I was certain was Naruto. As soon as the Nine Tails was sealed the barrier fell and... ignoring the yells of Lord Third.. Kakashi and I both bolted forward to catch them. I went to Kushina and caught her before she could fall forward on top of Naruto and I pulled her into my lap trying to heal the massve hole in her stomach. Kushina laid her soft hand over mine and I looked up to see her with a sad smile, tears still spilling from her eyes as she shook her head.

"You two shouldn't be here -cough- you should be somewhere safe" Minato choked out as blood dripped down to his chin. Kakashi was holding his head and upper body so that Minato was leaning against his legs. Tears spilled out of my eyes as I watched the two people that loved die slowly and painfully
