The next day we were assigned a mission to check out some disturbance on the edge of the land of fire but it turned out to be just some kids trying to get attention. The mission turned out to just be a big waste of time and I smiled when we finally got back home at sunset
"Good to be back" I said as I stretched my arms above my head
"I'll take in the mission report you guys can go home" Tenzo said with a little wave as he disappeared. I blinked for a second then smiled and grabbed Kakashi's hand ready to teleport
"Wait Sayuri" Itachi said and I turned to him and cocked my head to the side
"Yeah?" I asked curiously as he reached in his pouch to pull out something. I immediately felt tears fill my eyes as I looked at the two pictures in his hand. One was of me and Isamu taken the day before he left for the experiments.. We were at the training ground where he was teaching me how to throw a kunai properly. I was on his back smiling widely at the camera while he was looking up at me laughing. He had light brown hair that was parted off to one side slightly covering one of his big green eyes that were the same shade as mine but the shape was more like my fathers.. He had light freckles covering his cheeks but most of them were hidden behind the rims of his black glasses. The second picture had my father sitting on the ground with me in his lap while Isamu hung on his back hugging him from behind grinning widely. My father looked just like Isamu but he didn't have freckles or glasses and he had a short beard. I let out a fairly loud sob and pulled Itachi into a tight hug
"Thank Kami you didn't get hurt getting these" I said into his shoulder and he chuckled hugging me back tightly
"That's the first thing you think of?" He asked and I pulled away to look him in the eyes
"Of course.. No picture is worth a injured friend.. My mother is ruthless.. And although I knew you would win in a battle with her I just didn't want anyone getting hurt for a few old memories" I muttered hugging him again
"Ah well I'm not hurt and when I ran into your mother I put her in a pretty dark genjutsu that lasted for a few hours unless she found a way out. Memories of people you love are priceless and I think your obsession with pictures is not a bad obsession at all" He said smiling as he pulled back from the hug
"Thank you so much Itachi for the pictures -siffle- and putting my mother in a genjutsu" I said with a small laugh as I wiped my eyes with my sleeves
"My pleasure" he said and I slid up his mask so I could kiss his forehead
"You are good man Itachi" I said and I could sense Kakashi pouting behind me
"You are too Kakashi don't worry" I said with a little laugh
"Goodnight Itachi, enjoy your day off tomorrow. Try to spend some time with Sasuke.. I know what it's like to have a big brother that I looked up to more than anyone" I said waving the picture slightly and he nodded with a smile
