"Are you ok?" Their mom asked Camila, as she passed by the living room seeing how she's staring into oblivion at the tv that's not on.
"...mhm" she faked a smile looking at her. "Just peachy"
"Mhm well, alright" struggling with the laundry basket she left. "Oh, honey can you text Lauren and tell her to bring home some bleach" she heard her say from the backroom. "Damn, girl left for hours this morning and still haven't come back"
Since their kiss the other day in Lauren's room, both Camila and Lauren have been avoiding each other. In the mornings Lauren would leave little notes letting Camila know she can't take her to school because something came up, though she knew it was a lie. Or when they see each other in the halls, they would go the opposite direction so they won't see each other.
Though, in class, it's pretty tricky since they sit a few rows away from each other and are always partner's on every assignment. But once they get home it's a cat and mouse game between them even then. Whenever Lauren hears the door to Camila's room close she would sneak out to go eat and shower and such. While Lauren does all of this, Camila would try and occupy herself by listening to music or texting Shawn. Though no matter whatever it is that they're doing, they would began to think about the girl next door.
"W-where did she go?" She stammered grabbing her phone pulling up Lauren's contact name.
"Don't know" her mom said coming back. "Said she needed to clear her head so, she went on a jog"
"Mhm ok" instead of texting Lauren like her mom had asked she typed in Lauren's phone trying to find her location. Thank goodness Lauren never turns it off. "I'll be back"
"Get some bleach!!" Her mother yelled but the door had already slam shut.

_____"Thanks, Kendra" (picture above) Lauren thanked grabbing her cup of coffee from her as Kendra sat down across from her.
"Oh please, you know anything for my best customer" Kendra smiled at her. "Plus business is slow today," she said looking at how empty the bean is.
The bean is a small coffee shop a few miles away from their house and the campus. The business isn't up there but it's still a nice refreshing place to come and hang with friends. Kendra is a year older than both, Lauren and Camila and is the granddaughter of the original shop owner. Her grandma Rosa died of a heart attack and wanting to keep Rosa living on, Kendra kept the shop. And renamed it The bean. The name coming from a childhood nickname that Rosa gave her.
"Hey, how's that sister of yours though? Is she still with that douche? Or is she finally single?" Kendra questioned wiggling her eyebrows.
At the mention of Camila, Lauren tensed up a bit, clutching hard on her coffee cup but careful not to break the cup as her nails dug into it.
"Man, what I would give to be with her" Kendra said in a dreamy-like matter. "She's so hot and smart and- and when she gets that twinkle in her eyes when she thinks something is amazing, is truly beautiful. Oh, and how when she smiles it just lights up the room making it go from dull and gloomy to something-"
"Kendra, can you do me a favour and shut up," Lauren said unable to hear her talk about Camila. But Kendra did have a point, Lauren noticed all of this after a few short months of Camila moving in with them. Lauren always thought Camila was something special.
"What? Don't act brand new with me, Lauren" she said hitting her arm slightly. "You know how I feel about Camila," she said. "I mean, yea sure she's a year younger but I like that" she smiled.
