----------

i was sitting in the Boyce's living room, waiting for Cam to get ready. he's such a girl sometimes, i swear. five minutes later, Victor grabbed his keys. "Max, i'll wait for you guys in the car, okay?" i nodded.

it was the first day of shooting Jessie. Casey got the call about a week ago and i was so excited when i found out. i think i cried or something... i really can't remember. i was that excited.

once Victor was outside, i got up, went up the stairs, and pounded on Cameron's bedroom door. "CAMERON! HURRY UP, WOMAN! WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR THE TABLE READ! THIS IS MY FIRST DAY AND I DON-" Suddenly,he opened the door and my fist landed on his shoulder.

i covered my mouth. "oh god. i'm sorry i said." he just shrugged it off - literally. "i'm fine." he said before giving my forehead a quick peck. i smiled.

---------

we were sitting in the car. it was kind of early in the morning so we were all kind of quiet. i put in my earphones and scooted a little closer to Cam so that i could rest my head on his shoulder.

he pulled out his phone and tapped away. a couple seconds later, my phone vibrates.

Cameron Boyce (love...: excited?

i text back, grinning.

Maxtronaut: like you won't believe. :)

we basically continue on like that for the rest of the ride until we arrive at the studio.

when we got there, everyonemwas bustling around with clipboards, headsets, coffee cups and the like. everyone looked super busy. Cameron and i were told to wait in his dressing room while Victor talked to the person who was showing me around.

Victor walked in soon after with a lady who looked old enough to be my mom and was dressed very elegantly but she had a green streak in her hair. i found that kind of cool. she smiled at me. "hello, Max" she said. "i'm Miranda and i'll be showing you around." i shook her hand. "nice to meet you." i said.

she basically showed me around the whole set, explaining everything as we went. lastly, before we headed off to the conference room where we would be having the table read, she showed me my dressing room.

"it's a bit plain right now, but there are supplies like wall stickers and paint over in the closet in the corner. you can decorate however you want." she said. i was pretty excited.

-----------

i was the last one to arrive at the conference room but Miranda explained for me. everyone greeted me and welcomed me. i smiled and nodded and took a seat in between Cameron and Debby.

"okay," says Pamela, our executive producer. " so we've all met Max. she will be playing the new role for Audrey Brown." i gave a little wave. she then turned to me. "congratulations, Max." she said. "we were very impressed with your audition. what you brought to the table wasn't exactly what we were looking for but... well, we think it might be better."

i furrowed my brow. "sorry, ma'am." i said. "but i don't understand. what exactly did i do wrong in my audition?" she laughed. "oh no, sweetie, you didn't do anything wrong. you just portrayed your character, Audrey in a different way than we expected.

"you see, she was supposed to be presented as a sweet, kind... goody-two- shoes, if you will, but we appreciated your spunk. it was fresh and pretty exciting. we could use that on the show."

i beamed. "oh cool!" i said. "thanks so much for having me.

---------------

the table read continued on without a hitch. i really enjoyed it and i was looking forward to the rest of the week.

Cameron and i were hanging out in my dressing room. i was busy painting my walls while he played games on my phone. the music on it is turned way loud and it was getting sooo annoying. i sigh. "Cam, turn it down!" i snap. he looks up at me and pauses the game.

"what's up with you, grouchy pants?" ha asks, walking over to where i'm at. "Nothing." i say, turning my back to him and focusing on my mural on the wall. i feel him step closer. "you sure?" he asks. i nod. "yeah."

then i feel him step even closer. "how sure?" he asks. i can feel his breath at the back of my neck. my heart is beating really, really fast at his proximity. i try to wrestle the smile from my lips. i sigh, giving up. "ugh. why can't i stay mad at you?" i ask. i heard him laugh. he leans over and kisses my cheek.

"cause you were pretending, duh." ha said, wrapping his arms around my waist. i smile. "whatever." i say, cause i'm out of comebacks. then, i startle him by giving him a swipe of paint on his cheek. he jerks away. "dude, why?" he asks me, trying to wipe the paint off of his face but only succeeding in spreading it more. i laugh cause he looks like a mess.

i quickly take out my phone and snap a quick picture of him. "haha. instagram." i say. "awww. no!" he moans. "my face looks like a bird pooped on it." i laugh. "yeah," i say. " except today, you've got some paint on it as well." i collapse to the floor in giggles because he just looks so ridiculous. he looks at me, "okay, that's it." he says.

before i know it, he's tickling my sides. i'm laughing so hard, i'm crying. "stop! stop it!" i say. after a few more seconds, he lets me go. i laugh again. "i don't get why you're so upset, Cam. the green paint really brings out your freckles." i tease. he just shakes his head at me but after a while, he can't help but laugh too.
