A long chapter, I'm still trying to introduce everyone and build some plots. My writing is so grimy since I've been off with the writing for a couple of weeks! But hope you guys love this!

I woke up the next morning, feeling happily uneasy.

If that makes sense?

I could still smell Jason on me, his strong expensive cologne. His green hoodie was draped over the edge of my bed - he must have left it there.

I rolled out of bed to get ready for school, feeling numb. Last night stuck in my head, I took a cold shower - it usually woke me up and made me push my troubles away.

All I could think about was how Jason had held me last night, gripping me tightly as if he owned me. He used to be gentle - not wanting to hurt me. Now it seemed like that's what he wanted.

I watched us go from happy to straight up toxic. And it made me want to cry my eyes out. Instead I clenched my jaw and continued my morning routine of getting ready.

After 30 minutes, I was downstairs getting breakfast before my mom dropped me off at school.

"Hey babe." My mom walked in just as I hauled a cup to get some coffee. "I have some great news!"

"I could use some." I chuckled. "What is it? I'm finally getting a camera?"

Mom snorted. "Nope."

I pouted.

"Aunt Audrey and the family are coming to town." She tapped the counter excitedly. Audrey was my moms twin sister - Andrea and Audrey.

"For how long?" I felt a little better.

Aunt Audrey had two kids - Jake and Kay. I was obsessed with Jake, I mean the kids was hilarious - but Kay was someone you had to get used to.

Believe me.

"Maybe forever." She gushed. "Uncle Luke found a good job this side so they're giving it a shot."

My eyes widened. "Oh my gosh! That's really good news...but uh where will they stay? Have they found a place yet?"

Mom winced. "That's kinda why I came to you first."

"Don't tell me - "

"Simone, hear me out? It'll only be for a couple months until they can find a good home." Mom shrugged. "We have an extra room, Jake can crash in the basement and Kay - "

"Oh mom." I covered my face.

I wasn't a spoiled kid - even being the only child - my mom made me work hard for everything I wanted. But I couldn't share a room with Kay - the very cousin who would call me fat when I was younger.

"You're such a good kid, and Kay has grown up." Mom rubbed my arms affectionately. "A lot."

I groaned. "I can't do this."

"Don't be dramatic!" She chuckled. "I say think about it, but it's gonna happen anyways babe. I just wanted you to know in advance."

I nodded. I couldn't say no either, but I wants extremely excited about this situation. Family is family but under one roof was another story.

Mom kissed my cheek. "Get done honey, then we can leave."

School was a blur as well.

That's mostly how it goes - keep my head down to avoid conversation with people who only cared about my relationship with Jason, focus in classes, assignments, lunch, study hall hidden in the library, fight the urge to avoid Jason.
