-Simone POV-
That Monday morning; I kind of had a spring in my step.
I couldn't quite place why I was all light headed - I hope Kay didn't slip anything into my morning cereal but I was eager to see Sav and Gilinsky.
The weekend went super fast and having my family around was going to take some major getting used so I couldn't wait to unwind.
Maybe that's why I was happy - happy to get out.
I got back pretty late last night, after having hot choc and brownies at the Gilinsky household - we all talked and caught up on everything.
My mom wasn't too happy about that but she didn't say anything that morning, having been busy making a big breakfast for our new housemates.
But she kept glancing at me, probably wondering what I was feeling and that kind of annoyed me. I wasn't a spoiled brat who needed the house to myself.
I finished my breakfast quickly, then realized I still had to wait for Kay and Jake since we were all in the same school.
"I'm kind of nervous." Jake remarked finishing up his coco pops.
I nudged his arm. "9th grade isn't too bad, kid! Plus it's better than starting abit later in the grade."
"Uh thanks!" Kay groaned and rolled her eyes.
"I didn't mean it like that!" I smiled forcefully. "I know you'll be able to cope and handle it."
"Aslong as you help me." Kay pouted and made me want to roll my eyes this time around.
Did she mean sharing friends and lockers beside each other? I don't do that kind of thing. It was too weird. I didn't get Kay at all - one minute she's uber sassy and the next, way too nice.
Scary.
"Alright!" I clapped my hands. "Sav has a car so she usually picks me up. She doesn't mind us all going together."
Aunt Audrey smiled. "I'm so grateful for that! But once we get on our feet, I can take you kids!"
"It's no biggie." I smiled. But I know i wouldn't be able to have much girl talk with Sav now - sacrifices.
So Jake, Kay and I grabbed all of our necessities and headed out to wait for Savana.
-Jack POV-
"Dude." Johnson gave me a sick look the next morning at school.
We slumped against the same old wall near the main school gate. Our entire squad usually linked up here since 8th grade but we'd meet now and then to catch a smoke.
I lit one up now.
"Wassup?"
"Don't wassup me?" Johnson made a face. "Are you kidding me?"
I frowned. "Can't I just enjoy a cig right now?"
This morning I had woken up in a very strange mood. A pit in my stomach had formed - couldn't place it. But I felt a little depressed to tell you the truth.
"Saturday night? Ring a bell?" Johnson ignored my protest. "After I left your house."
Then it hit me - I was supposed to meet Johnson for a party or a double date or some shit like that. But I spaced after texting Simone.
"Oh crap yeah." I shook my head. "Nah I definitely owe you man, I was helping out a friend so - "
"I'm your only friend." Johnson shot back.
