A timid Sakura asked a bit quietly, "What are we doing today sensei?" Kakashi peeked up a bit to see one of his students weren't dead of emotion. Well, today we are doing a very special exercise, tree climbing." We all stared at him like he was nuts. "How the hell is tree climbing supposed to help us fight Zabuza?!" Naruto whispered yelled, glancing back at me to see if I disapproved. "Well Naruto, it has to happen to do with everything about defeating Zabuza." "Huh, how?" He asked clueless. Sasuke was even giving Kakashi a disbelieving look. How the hell is climbing trees supposed to help us? Are we going to swing like chimpanzees onto his face? "But there's a catch," he said mysteriously. "Your going to climb trees... without any hands." Huh? Kakashi what are you up to? I looked up to the trees, tall and proud. It's impossible, there's no way that's possible. I looked back to the pervert, he was smiling so happily, like he enjoyed our confusion. What are you up to pervert? "Like this." He finally answered. He started to walk towards the nearest one, then put his crutches on the tree bark. And to our amazement he started to climb the tree. He even went upside down! He then climbed down and started to talk.
"In order to do that we need to review the basics of chakra, the ninjas basic source of power." Naruto nodded in 'understanding', "Ya we learned about... Catra a long time ago." "Chakra." Kakashi corrected. Naruto laughed a bit nervously. Kakashi turned to Sakura, "Sakura." He asked with his tone. She got the message, "Alright Naruto I'll explain it so you can understand." She pulled a scroll out of nowhere that said 'Chakra' on it. "Chakra is the elemental life energy a ninja uses..." Uuugh, I hate this I know what chakra is. Suddenly Naruto's complaining snapped me out of my thoughts. "What's with these complicated explanations? The whole point is to learn the jutsu isn't it?!" He exclaimed. I growled a bit and sneered, I felt him stiffen up at my actions. "For once he's right. We're already using chakra for energy in our jutsu." Sasuke added. "No," Kakashi started. "You have not mastered this power, you barley scratched the surface of it." "Whadya mean?!" Naruto complained. "Calm down and listen," the pervert started again. "It's just like Sakura said, you need to draw out physical and spiritual energy and then combine them within yourself. But, how do you do that?" He added mysteriously. "Each type of chakra requires different purportions..." he droned on. I gave a glance back at Kimi, still sound asleep. Though her brows were scrunched together a bit, as if she was listening for something. What would she be listening for? Perhaps an attacker? But everyone in that village is as thin as bone. I looked over at everyone, listening carefully as if what Kakashi was saying was liquid gold. Tch, they all look like this exercise will defeat Zabuza. I doubt it, their all weak. Kakashi suddenly pulled out four kuni and threw it with ease at the ground, almost like a knife through butter. "Now, what all of you are going to do is simple. Focus on the bottoms of your feet with chakra, then to get momentum run at the tree. Since you all are inexperienced running will make it a bit easier, use the kuni to mark the tree. Then try to go higher the next time." Naruto smirked and pulled the kuni from the ground, "Alright, let's do this." I took the kuni as well and looked at a nearby tree.
The tree rose high up in the sky, almost if I was walking with giants. I heard a yell to see Naruto taking off at the tree as well as Sasuke and Sakura. I looked at my feet, concealed by thick heavy boots. I took a deep breath and focused on the flow. Swirling around in the same pattern, like an endless river. I gathered some chakra at the bottom of my feet, I frowned at the unusual feeling. It was very weak, I only know a few justus. My mother thought me how to be strong, not flashy moves. I looked up and turned my heel and ran at the the tree, putting all of my effort in running at the tree. I latched onto the tree running, it almost felt like a sticky syrup on the bottoms of my feet. Up and up the tree I went, after a good 10 seconds I felt my grip weaken. I took the kuni and slashed at the tree leaving a deep cut, then I kept going. The sticky feeling gone as I purely ran on adrenaline faster and faster. My feet a blur as branches passed me one after another. My energy was running down so I leaped to a nearby branch. I took heavy breaths as I leaned agents the trunk to catch my breath. I looked down to see I'm very high up. The ground looked so far away, Kakashi and Kimi looked so small, I could almost reach down and pick them like grapes. I shifted a bit uncomfortably, out of habit I bit my lower lip. A jolt of pain blossomed as a metallic warm liquid coated my tongue, the salty taste somehow soothing. I licked my chapped lips, sweeping up the salty liquid. My lips are always dry, is that why adults did it?
