The next morning, the morning of the audition, we all woke up early. Not because we needed, but because nerves were setting in.

Yesterday was exciting. For eight months we imagined and talked about what this day would be like. Now, that it was here, and we would actually be in front of those four judges and hundreds of people, it all became so real and frightening.

Down at breakfast, no one said anything, or really ate anything. We all kept looking at each other, waiting for someone to break the silence, but not being the one to do it.

                                                                --------------------------------

We spent the rest the rest of the morning dressing and pacing the room, trying not be physically sick.

It finally came to the time for us to head over to the London Palladium. We made finish touches on our hair and make-up before grabbing our instruments and sheet music to head downstairs.

The Palladium was less than a half mile from the Le Meridien and the weather was pretty nice, so we walked to the Palladium. We still weren't chatty as our nerves grew.

As we got closer to the Palladium, we had to stop two blocks away as the line for registration to audition started there.

"Holy crap!" I said as I tried to look over the sea of auditionees' heads to see where the registration table was in relation to us.

"Well, this going to take awhile, " Evy commented as leaned against the wall of the building and sat down.

To our surprise the line moved pretty fast and within three hours we were inside the Palladium with our audition number waiting with the others to be called for our chance on stage.

We had agreed to not do any more final rehearsing as that could mess up us for the audition. We polished and tuned our instruments and then just sat. We looked around the room to see if we could get the occasional glance of Ant and Dec, but it was only interns and young staff members that came to the room to call the next auditionee to backstage to prepare to go on.

As the numbers got closer to ours, we became even more nervous. We sat in a line with each one wrapping their arm around the one next to them for comfort. We could feel each other's nervousness. Some of shook with the fear. We didn't want to let the group down.  We all worked so hard to get here.

"Number 1,456?" The young woman called across the room. Emily, who was wearing our number stood and we all followed. We followed the woman through the maze of backstage, looking at each other and smiling to try to build confidence.
