Luke made a vow to himself to never watch a movie with Sophie ever again. At least, not in the cinema. It wasn't that she was an annoying person to be around, or anything; she didn't talk a lot, or fidget, or eat her popcorn loudly. She was actually a good little girl, keeping her pretty lips zipped and her knees crossed on the seat. Luke was impressed.
What he wasn't impressed by, however, were the pair of skin-tight leggings that she wore; thin, slightly see-through material, notorious for showing off everything that Sophie Hood had in the back.
It was alright at first, because Luke didn't really pay any attention to how she shimmied past right in front of him to exit the row. The lights hadn't been dimmed yet either, so he managed to focus a majority of his attention on the text that he had displayed across his phone screen.
But then she came back, and he almost had to do a double take at the slight view of Sophie.
His jaw almost hit the ground, eyes widening with a stunned expression because he had underestimated her small build entirely; to put it simply, her ass looked fantastic in those plain black leggings.
After that, it was kind of absolute torture for him. Whenever she shifted in her seat, whenever she leaned against him with her focus on the film. Luke just couldn't get the image of her ass out of his head and although he knew that it was inappropriate, he couldn't help it.
Especially after what she'd told him on their way out of the car. The girl practically knew that he had the sex drive of a fucking animal, and Luke was at a cross between proud and humiliated.
Then Sophie excused herself a second time; about halfway through the movie, because her phone was vibrating and she'd forgotten to tell Mali where she was going beforehand.
She was gone for a good few minutes- which gave Luke enough time to calm his little 'buddy' down there- but when Sophie came back, it was like all of his efforts had been wasted. He was back to square one; feeling like a hormonal, fifteen-year old high schooler.
Although Sophie herself hadn't been paying much attention to Luke, for she was far too concentrated on the content of the movie, she couldn't deny the fact that their time together made her happy. Something about him just made her happy. She wasn't sure what yet.
He was a change in her life, and that was good. Sophie was beginning to get sick of routine.
Of course, not her morning cartoon routine. No, that would definitely stay. Luke couldn't change that, and if he tried to then she'd have no choice but to disown him.
Okay, maybe not. Sophie couldn't get rid of Luke even if she tried. She didn't really want to, anyway.
He was like another Calum. As strange as it sounded, he was more protective over Sophie than her own older brother was, and that was saying a lot. He was more protective in the sense that he felt like he needed to be, whereas Calum feared the backlash from their parents.
She wanted to ask him a lot of questions, maybe even conjure up a quiz so that he'd reveal more about himself. She genuinely wanted to know. The young girl didn't know a lot about him other than the fact that he boxed, and the she was determined to change that.
Luke was just a closed book and Sophie liked reading. Simple.
Despite having been able to push the words of Becky and Estelle and even Jess out of her mind for the majority of the night, Sophie found herself flickering back to their conversation every now and again as the movie carried on.
She wondered how many of them Luke had actually been in; bar Estelle, because she seemed the friendliest and most reserved of the bunch. Sophie actually didn't mind her. She seemed nice.
