Luke couldn't quite look Calum Thomas Hood in the eye after that; not after he'd just made the man's little sister come right on his fingers.
He kept his head down, blonde hair falling in front of his eyes as he spooned the Weetabix out of his bowl, bringing the filled utensil up to his lips with a sigh. His friends all chattered around him, with Ashton flipping some eggs in a pan, Michael screaming every time a small splash of oil went his way and Calum scrolling absentmindedly through his phone.
Ah, mate, Luke couldn't help but think, grimacing a little, I'm so sorry.
Meanwhile, Sophie was getting ready upstairs, set to go somewhere that Luke didn't know about. She hadn't told him, and he didn't want to press on it too much just in case he annoyed her, so things stayed ambigious until she came down the stairs and he'd get a hint of her whereabouts due to her outfit.
"Luke,"
He looked up, eyebrows raising in acknowledgement as Ashton slid a plate of food his way, "Eat up,"
"I'm eating," the blonde said confusedly, gesturing to his bowl of mushed wheat.
"Real food, dude. That's like, nothing,"
"The fuck is Wheetabix if it isn't food?"
"A sin," Calum chuckled, glancing up from his phone. Luke's head snapped towards him immediately, slightly alarmed at his sudden participation in the conversation, "At least, that's what Sophie calls it,"
I know. An uneasy feeling settled in Luke's stomach as he nodded, sending a hesitant smile his friend's way.
"A sin?" the curley headed boy chuckled, sliding Calum's own plate towards him. If anything, he'd force the food down their throats if he had to; Ashton Irwin did not slave over a hot stove for a whole fifteen minutes for nothing, "Why does she call it that?"
"Beats me. Why does she do a lot of things?" Calum said, making Luke think that there was a part of him that knew about what they'd done earlier. However, his best friend's face stayed stoic, going against his thought entirely, "You guys up to much today?"
The other two men shook their heads no, whereas Luke had to pause. He didn't have anything planned- not anymore, unfortunately, for his initial idea was to spend the rest of the day with Sophie. But seeing as she was going somewhere, he had to scrap that plan completely.
"What do you have in mind?" Ashton asked, slipping into the seat next to Luke.
For someone who knew more about his relationship with Sophie than the other two in the room, the other boxer was being pretty reserved about it. Luke had no idea whether or not he approved, exactly, but he knew that Ashton keeping his mouth shut would be something he'd appreciate for as long as he lived.
Calum shrugged, "Not much, really," he put his phone down, ready to continue, "My mum just wants me to get some supplies for this wine tasting event-"
"Fancy." Michael stated.
"-That she's hosting tonight, and I don't really want to carry however many crates of alcohol she wants into the hummer by myself, so..." he trailed off, hinting wordlessly as the three other men blinked blankly at him, "Care to help a guy out?"
"Hold on," Ashton put a hand up, leaning his elbows against the counter, "You're having a party tonight and you didn't tell us?"
"Dude, it's not a party. Barely," Calum reinstated, "It's just a small gathering. You know, my mom inviting a few people around and making them glug a bunch of shit- hence why she needs me to get the things to glug,"
