❝ see you again ❞ | CH. FOUR

---leaving was  never a good thing. Though it wasn't new for Louis Davies. He's experienced loss a lot of times before, the sudden passing of a loved one to the eternal pane of oblivion was something he experience before. Unfortunately, that certain loved one was his father. At the age of fifteen, he saw his father die. The war was slowly putting into transition as by the downfall of the infamous wizard Grindelwald, to Voldemort.

It was a snow day when it happened, Louis' father just happened to visit London to help find some wizards and witches who went missing a couple days back. He was one of the greatest Aurors of America, it wasn't much of a question why the Ministry would hire him.

The cold breeze caused a shiver to went down Louis' spine. He wasn't use to the temperature of the UK anymore, a side effect of their move to the US. He clutched his jacket tighter around his body in hopes it'll make him warmer. A cold fog formed in front of his lips as he let out a shaky breath, his eye brows furrowing at it.

"Hey son!" His father greeted, his right hand waving just above his head as he walked towards him. Engulfing him in a hug. Louis sighed in relief at the warm embrace before pulling away. "How's London treating you so far?"

"Like sh-shit," he whispered, letting out a shaky breath.

His father furrowed his eyebrows at him before smiling and chuckling. "Language," he said in between laughs before tousling his hair. Making Louis to shake his head in response. "It seems like only yesterday when I use to change your diapers."

Louis' face suddenly grew warmer by the declaration before pushing his dad's hands away.

"Shut up," he muttered under his breath, shoving his hands on the pockets of his coat before looking down. "I'm not a kid anymore, you know?"

His dad only sighed in response, "I know, kiddo." He looked wistfully at Louis, almost regretting how much time he didn't give him when he was young. "I just wish time won't go too fast."

"I bet," Louis smiled, looking up to him, "you're getting older by the minute!"

He laughed. His dad smiled at him, suddenly seeing a  younger versions Louis instead of the present one. The last time they talked like this was when he left a year ago for this job. Still, he was glad to see his son. Even when I get old and forget you, I will always be proud of you.

A loud roar of thunder cut Louis' laughter off, soon followed by insane laughter. Suddenly, the sky turned green, illuminating the dark clouds menacingly as a shape of a skull and a snake cake into view.

"Louis, go," his father said, looking at him sternly. But he didn't heard him. His mind was too engrossed at the mark engraved in the clouds. His eyes fixed on the snake and the skull as if it was the most mesmerizing thing in the world.

A blue ray of light suddenly flew past Louis' cheek, cutting off his train of thought. Another deranged giggle rang through the air, making Louis snap his head up to see five people zooming over them with their brooms.

"Louis, go! And don't turn back." His father ordered, louder this time. Louis looked at him with confusion and fear.

"Wh-what about you?" He asked, his mind whirring in a million thoughts by the second. His eyes fixed on his father as he took his wand out.
