" you make me strong " | CH. THIRTEEN

---weeks passed and the two have gotten closer throughout those weeks. Remus and Asteria were constantly seen together either in the library or by the Black Lake, studying their heart out all the while exchanging stories from their childhood to how Sirius could possibly manage his hair. This phenomenon did not go unnoticed by their circle of friends. The Marauders, although they have been downsized to three because of Remus's occuring absence, have set their eyes on the pair, curious to how their friendship have developed. On the other hand, Dorcas have been swayed by the pair saying "It's okay, the both of you just look too cute for me to be mad. Plus, I don't even have the right to be mad!" In simpler terms she was rather supportive for the both of them. Still, they were all half worried and half exhilarated for the pair.

"You know Remus, I'm very fond of you." Asteria said during one of their study sessions. The words just scrambled out of her mouth while she read. Still, she didn't regret what she said.

"Thank you, Asteria. I'm very fond of you too." Remus replied, not really sure what to say. But it was the truth, he was very fond of her. The sudden formality made him feel weird. "By the way, where did you get the answer on the second question?"

"Page 250," she answered. "I'm sorry if what I said was a bit sudden... I just had the urge to tell you." She didn't know why but she felt oddly attached to the boy in front of her. She didn't know what aspect of him made him so interesting to her. Was it his scars? Kind of. She wanted to know all about them. Other than that, a lot of things about him covered her thoughts. His weird fixation for chocolate, his fascination to some of the most mundane things like astronomy. He also loved wearing sweaters and his favorite color was green. He was quite fascinating in her eyes and she would have wanted nothing but to marvel at him. To her he was the sun and she was willing to orbit around him.

"It's okay, Asteria." Remus replied, offering her the gentlest smile he could give. "Thanks by the way," he clicked his tongue before flipping the pages of his book. Once arriving at the specific page, he let his eyes wander back to the girl. Much like Asteria, he too felt oddly attached to her. He had this weird sense to protect her from the cruelties of the world. He always saw her in a unique light, always seem to have this calming aura radiating off her. He didn't know what it was although he could name a few in his head. To him she was the moon and he was the sun, he'd gladly die everyday for her.

The clock ticked away as the pair continued on their work. For the past hour nothing can be heard but the sound of quills gliding away through the scrolls of parchment. It was quiet but not the kind that was filled with tension but the opposite. It was peaceful and that was enough for the both of them. Just being together seem to create a sense of ease as they worked.

Asteria was the first to finish, quickly closing her book before stretching. "Welp, that's that," she grunted before returning back to her old posture, "history, a very god awful subject!"

Remus couldn't help but chuckled amusedly at the girl. "I disagree on that but his homeworks are exhausting."

"Right! I can't believe he had the audacity to even give them. Who would want to listen to that boring voice. I could barely keep awake!" She exclaimed further.

"Don't worry, I'm almost finished and after this we can head on out to get dinner." Asteria quietly cheered for joy on that, her eyes making slight contact with the librarian.
