" some things are meant to be " | CH. FOURTEEN

---"i gotta hand it to you, Remus." Sirius said, eyeing the chocolate and note in Remus's hand. "You're one lucky cookie."

Remus smiled, letting the small twinge of red creep on his cheeks. The others were giving him teasing smirks as they got ready for the day. As usual, Remus decided to sit the day out. The night before really exhausted him a lot since he managed to break from his shackles in werewolf form, again. His arms were a bit sore because of it. And even though he was anticipating to meet Asteria that day, he physically can't move his body without feeling a lot of pain.

The note Asteria wrote still rested on his hand and he can't help but smile fondly at it.

Dear Remus,

I'm a bit upset you didn't tell me the truth yesterday but I guess I kind of understand. You told me once that you loved chocolates so I hope this is enough.

Rest, okay? You need to feel better soon, I miss having you as my study buddy already.

Sincerely,
Asteria

"Look Prongs, he's smiling and blushing and oh my god!" Sirius exclaimed, pointing at his direction while gripping on James cloak with his other hand.

"Leave him be, Pads. It's not often we get to see Moony here be in love." James said, taking Sirius's hand off him.

"It's a bloody miracle I tell you." The boy replied, turning again to a mirror to check his appearance. Once satisfied, he turned back to Remus. "She must be something, aye Moony?"

Remus only rolled his eyes in reply, not bothering to offer the boy a proper reply. He put the note to his night stand drawer, wincing a bit when his arm ached.

Seeing this, Peter spoke up. "I'll get you something for the pain later from the clinic."

Remus sighed in relief, giving him a grateful smile. "Thanks, Wormy. Is it okay to get me a cup of tea as well?"

The boy nodded in reply, "although it might come late though since I can't miss first period. My grades in Transfiguration will need a bloody miracle." James and Sirius chuckled at that.

"Don't worry, Wormy. You seem to forget you're friends with one of the best Transfiguration student in Hogwarts." James boasted, wrapping an arm around Peter. "I'll help you."

"I'll help too." Sirius said, walking closer to them. "Wouldn't want you to spend a year here in Hogwarts without us!"

Peter smiled genuinely at all of them, "thanks guys. I don't know what I'll do without you."

Remus cleared his throat, grabbing the attention of the trio. "I hate to be the one to break this heartfelt moment but breakfast is ending in twenty minutes, and while I would love you guys to stay longer I don't want you guys to face McGonagall's wrath for being late again."

At that, the boys went to take their leave. Each of them waving goodbye to Remus and telling him to rest and get better.

"Don't miss us too much!" Sirius called out behind his shoulder as he followed suit behind James.
