drowned

  drowned

he kissed the mermaid
with his breaths out
and his lips closed to feel the pain
the tongue frilled to beg for air
and the mermaid gave her weeds
and the tendrils from hair
the lair of their own meeds
paid to sought the debts
of their dying deeds.

drowned as he blew the last cry
into the mid-floor sea
his life was pulled
to its end-fooled sight.
