Vacation with a Twist - Downfall [24]

Seth

Raya and I have been here for about three days. This is honestly one of the best vacations we have taken, let alone one of the only few that we have taken. I wake up to see her laying on the bed, texting away on her phone. I seriously love how she doesn't even try to look beautiful for me with all of the makeup she puts on. She's beautiful without makeup.

I wrap my arms around her and bring her closer to me. I can feel her tense up for a second before I see her face, her brown eyes looking into mine. "Hey beautiful," I say, causing her to smile a bit. "Good morning to you too. How'd you sleep?" She asks me. "Good. Ready to have fun?" Paige nods in response.

I get up and make some breakfast while Paige sits on the porch, watching the ocean. What I didn't realize was that there were a lot of stray dogs on the island. Every time she sees a dog, she wants to take it home. I love dogs too, but if we took every dog we saw home, that would be like twenty dogs. I mean, we already have three dogs and three cats.

"Seth!" I hear Paige yell. I roll my eyes jokingly before I turn around to see her with a puppy in her arms. "Raya, we can't bring it back home," I tell her, which in return, I got a sad look from Paige. "Why not? I sure as hell don't mind having another dog. I know you want another one. Come on, please?" I hate seeing her all sad but I don't even know the process of taking an animal back to the U.S.

"Look, put the dog food bowl out. If it keeps coming back, then I might consider taking it back with us." She gets the biggest smile on her face, then she kisses me. I wouldn't mind having another pet but with all of the traveling we do, it's kind of hard to take care of them.

After we eat brunch, we go in the ocean and play around for a bit. Seeing her happy was one of the best things that could've possibly happen. I'm glad that Steph and Hunter gave us this time off. We honestly needed this after Mania. I can notice that something wasn't right with her. I couldn't really figure it out but you could see it in her eyes.

"Hey," I say, holding her chin, "You alright?" She doesn't make eye contact with me, which tells me something is wrong. "I'm fine. Why you asking?" She says, a bit of a defensive tone in her voice. Now I can tell something is wrong. I know her well enough to know that when she gets defensive, she's hiding something. "Spill it," I tell her.

"What? I'm not hiding anything. Even if I was, I have a right not to tell you," Paige exclaims, proving my point. "Look, I know how you are. You don't have to be all defensive." I'm pretty sure that triggered her since she simply got up and walked away. Something obviously is wrong and she's not telling me what it is.

I got up to go after her but realizing how she is, I just let her go. She needs to just calm herself down from whatever is on her mind causing her to act the way she is.

It's been about an hour and I'm starting to get a bit worried. Usually she would be gone for ten minutes. We get very decent service here since our plan is international. I get a call from Alexa... why the fuck would she be calling me in the first place? I answer the call anyways since maybe she knows what's going on with Paige.

"Bitch, what do you want?" I ask. "Hey um, you with Paige?" The tone in her voice had concern and worry in it, causing me to be serious with her. "No she went off by herself why do you as--?" "FUCK!"

"Alexis, what do you know?" She doesn't say anything for the longest time, making me worry more about what happened. "I'll send you the text..." Complete silence after that. I read the text and immediately became more worried than before.

"Shit!" I yell, startling Bliss. "Ok go look for her and text me when you found her. Please. I want to make sure that my best friend is ok." She ends the call, which leads me to go on the search for her.

After a few minutes of hiking through the rainforest, I spot a figure near the edge of a cliff. "Paige!" I yell, hoping it was her. I see her hand twitch a little and see the grey in her hair. I then run up behind her and saw how close she is to the edge.

"Paige!" I didn't bother to turn around. I knew who it was and I honestly was not in the mood to see him. Everything going on right now is just too much for me and I need to end it.

"I'm sorry, ok? I know I'm a fuck up and I make mistakes. I honestly shouldn't bother you if you don't wanna talk. Now I know that you probably wanna end it here but there's too many people who need you. Ending now will only make it worse. Think about it."

I hear him slowly getting closer and closer to me. "Saraya, please. Let's just go back to the beach house. Everything will be fine." I started to take into consideration what Seth had said. Yea, dying now isn't worth it. We all know how fucked up my mind is. Ever since I was fifteen, I haven't been able to think straight, which I hate so much. My head was saying to jump but my heart was saying to back away from the cliff.

I decided to listen to my heart and slowly back away from the edge. I could feel that Seth was no longer tense without touching him or seeing him. Suddenly, my foot slipped and I fall forward, near the cliff. I then feel an arm grab my waist, pulling me back. I land on top of him and he just embraces me in the tightest hug ever.

"I'm never gonna let you go. Never." I did not like what just happened. I just saw my life flash before my eyes. I never want to feel that again. I start to cry while Seth conforts me, which is honestly what I need as of this moment, just some love and affection. He then picks me up bridal style and doesn't put me down till we are at the beach house. I almost vomited on him since I still don't feel well but I was able to contain myself.

As soon as we got to the beach house, I ran to the bathroom to relieve myself. Seth pulled my hair back, just assuming that I'm traumatized from what had just happened, but it honestly is a completely different story. I really want to tell him... I just don't know when I will tell him.

It's been about two weeks since our trip and things have been a bit weird with Seth and I. I think he's started to notice since I've been a bit more distant than I would like to be. I was watching Netflix when all of a sudden, the TV shuts off. "Hey! I was watching that!" Seth sits next to me. Oh shit, he's gonna question me. "Wha's been up with you? You've been a bit distant and I don't like it."

"I'm fine. Nothing is--" He then grabs my hand, stopping me from completing my sentence. "Saraya please. I won't get mad." I look at him with a worried look in my eyes, "Promise?" Seth nods, "Promise." I get up and grab a few things from my room. Once I come back, I hand the box to him. I had planned what I wanted to do for a while and it's finally happening.

I started to play with my hands while Seth was reading the letter. He looks at me then opens the box. "Is this real?" I nod in response. A smile appears on his face and then he picks me up, spinning me around. "You're not mad?" I ask. "Why would I be mad?! Sure it was unexpected but we are finally gonna have what we've talked about for a while. We're gonna have a family!"

I kiss him and he kisses me back. I honestly thought he would be mad but I guess I'm just paranoid. So yea, if you haven't figured it out, we are gonna have another member to our little family of dogs and cats. This time, I am actually excited for this journey. It's probably gonna be the toughest one yet, but everyone knows I'm up for a challenge.
