CHAPTER 23

-The Next Day-

The following morning, you woke up to the sound of your loud alarm ringing. You harshly hit the snooze button. "15 minutes more..." You groaned as you drifted back to sleep. School begins at 8:00, and it was currently 7:15. Your goal may be 7:30, however, not all goals are achieved.

You ended up being awake at 7:50. And no, that does not give you enough time to shower, pick out clothes, do your hair, eat breakfast, and brush your teeth... let alone use the toilet. You groaned at the top of your lungs and did all you needed to do. ' I'll just get a late pass.' you thought intently. It was now 8:10 when you were heading out the house. And by the time you walked to school, it was 8:30. You opened the door of your first block classroom. The teacher looked at you with worried eyes.

"Where were you, miss L/N?" Your teacher asked in a soft tone. "You are never late!" You nodded and handed her your late pass.

"Well, Ms. B, I had a plan of waking up at 7:30 and it backfired 20 minutes." You said with a little chuckle. She smiled as you walked to your seat beside Lila.

"Hey Lila. What'd I miss?" You asked. Lila slid you the notes as you quickly wrote them down.

"Not much. Actually, we're doing a group project. She already announced the groups. I'm with Marinette and Alya. I hope they're nice." 

"Oh, yes, they are very nice. Do you know who I'm with?" You ask. She nodded in response.

"Adrien and Nino." She sighs. You smile as the teacher calls out to the class. She then explained the rules of group tasks. After her long rambling, she tells the class to plan with your work together. You swiftly walk over to the area in which you'll be working in. Adrien gives you a confident smile. However, as soon as you get working, the aura becomes thick with a sense of awkward tension.

"Talk about awkward." Nino smirks and rushes to the bathroom. Adrien looked at you the way he did when you two were growing up. The playful one. As determined as you were, you were a bit scared. Scared of the oblivion.

"Let's start with the cover of the book. We need a good interpretation of the title. That was the book cover will be easier to define and design." You rhyme as a small chuckle eases through his lips.

"Ok. The word Oversaturate means to have an overemphasis on something." Adrien implied. His brains turned you on so much that your crush on him just grew about 5%.

Finally class was over and Adrien invited you over to his house for lunch.

You stood at the table as food was brought to you, much to your content. Soon enough, the two of you finished. Adrien looked eager. What did he want to tell you?

"Y/N... I've been meaning to tell you..."
