Caitlyn hurries out of her father's car, where both parents were arguing, again, and made her way to a bench. Her vision soon became dark because of familiar hands. "Guess who?" A goofy voice teases, she shoots up out of the bench and turns to see Carter. She hugs him tightly, he hugs her back. "Hey, Cait!" He greets softly, noticing she was upset again.
"Oh Cart! It's awful! They've been arguing non-stop! They're not even trying to hide it anymore!" She sobs into hi neck, he pulls back and kisses her gently.
"Woah there, Beautiful!" He stops her, "Want something happy?" He asks softly, she nods eagerly. "Okay then. Caitlyn Harper Thomas, I love you! I know the closest thing we've ever been to a date was eighth grade formal, but I do. I love you. I love how much you smile whenever your favorite song comes on, I love how much you light up when you get even the tiniest flower. I love your laugh. I love how you believed in me when I messed up all those years ago. I love that you give me second chances even when I don't deserve them. I love that you believe in everyone's capability of goodness and greatness. I love how you sing along to songs softly because you think you don't sound good, even though you sound perfect. I love every single piece of you! And I just have to ask before it tears me apart inside. Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks nervously, handing her a bouquet of bluebells and other various flowers. He notices the tears in her eyes as she stares at the tiny bluebells. "I had to add them, for sentimentality." HE explains, she lets a tear fall.
"Thank you, they're gorgeous! Of course, I will!" She replies grinning, then they kiss. And it's still perfect. "By the way." She whispers against his lips, "Good luck today at tryouts! I love you." She whispers and then she keeps kissing him. He still can't believe he has this amazing young woman as his girlfriend, the one who will cheer him on at football games and is a cheerleader just so she has to attend every game to see him up close. She still can't believe she has this perfect young man as her boyfriend, the one who goes to every cheer competition to cheer her on and goes to every writing competitions she has just to listen to her pieces. They're them and they love one another. But how long with they last?
