Caitlyn Thomas is terrified to start kindergarten until she makes a new friend in an unexpected place. Follow Cait and her newfound friend, Carter Anderson, through their school years, watch them mature and discover the world around them.
Caitlyn hugs her mom and runs over to her bench, sitting quickly. Caitlyn waits in silence, humming softly in her mind the tune she made this morning. Shortly, Caitlyn hears her best friend. "Yeah. Sure, Tommy. We can after practice tonight. I'll talk to you later, I see Cait!" Carter says waving to his other friends before running over to Caitlyn. "Hey, Cait!!" He greets sitting next to her, he hands her a saxifrage flower, making her smile.
"Hey Cart! Ready for this year?" Caitlyn asks, making Carter grin widely.
"Yeah! I got Ms. Hunter! You?" He asks making Caitlyn's face lights up.
"I did too!!" She replies happily, Carter can't help but grin at his best friend's contagious attitude.
"Yay!!" He cheers, clearly excited, "Oh! Guess what?!?" He asks, too excited to let her respond, "Mom finally signed me up for football!!" He exclaims, sounding somewhat exasperated, Caitlyn giggles.
"Fun!" She tells her friend, as he continues to tell her all about it. "That's just so fun..." She whispers as he continues to ramble only stopping to wave to one of the guys he knows from football. And it would be. For him.
