Chapter 13

Ava's POV

We were all laughing and I decide to ask the question I've been thinking of since we picked everyone up. "So... Chloe." I smirk. "Yah what up Ave?" She asks innocently. "So are you and Ben still together?" I smirk and wiggle my eyebrows. Shawn and Julia laugh while Ben slinks his arms around Chloe's waist. "Well that answers my question!" I say laughing. They turn and kiss and Julia yells "PDA!! AH MY EYES!" Our table bursts out laughing.

We all were originally going to split the bill 5 different ways, but Shawn paid for mine and his while Ben insisted paying for Julia, Chloe's and his own. Shawn and I are now on the way home to his house after having dropped off everyone. I turn up the radio and watch out the window as the snow falls off of the trees making little indents in the snow below it.

Once we're at Shawn's house I help him double and triple check to make sure he has everything packed. "Alright now, What are the 3 things you have to remember to bring into carryon tomorrow Mendes?" I sat tapping my foot with my arms crossed. "Um. Uh. Oh yea! Phone, phone charger and toothbrush." I nod and smile.

"Which house are we staying at tonight?" He asks. "What about mine? That way we can hang out for a little bit with my mom and say bye to her in the morning." I say. "Sounds like a plan Klase." We grab his bags and those three items and head over to my house.

I knock at the door and about 10 seconds later my mom is there to greet us. "Hey kiddos. I was just about to bake some cookies. Want to help me?" I smile and nod while walking in. But Queen Shawn over here has his little diva moment. "No way. The all time, favourite, most delicious Klase cookies? It's an honor to be helping you." We all laugh and head towards the kitchen.

Shawn sets his bags down by the couch and we walk into the kitchen. "Alright. Mendes you go and get the bowls, cookie pans, and utensils we'll need." I instruct him. He salutes and goes through the empty cabinets. Mom and I grab all the ingredients and set them on the counter. So right after we finished mixing the final ingredients together, I take the beaters out of the mixer and hand Shawn one while keeping one for myself.

"Oh my God." I say and close my eyes. "This is so good." I say dragging out the last word. I open my eyes to see Shawn finished licking the batter. "How did you eat that so fast?!" I ask. "Well first you should know by now that eating is one of my many talents. And as I said they're Klase cookies. They aren't even baked yet and they taste like heaven." He replies. "Oh my gosh Shawn." I say and laugh.

We go up to my room after putting the cookies in the oven. I grab a deck of cards and we start to play go fish. I know it's a kids game but hey, it's pretty fun and Shawn and I used to play it all the time. "Got any twos?" I ask. "Damnit Ava." He throws his two at me and I laugh maniacally. I put the pair down and yell "Uno!" Because I have one card left. Shawn looks at me confused but we laugh and I hear the timer.

I give Shawn my game face and run down the stairs only to be passed by Shawn. We race into the kitchen and he wins. My mom looks at us and laughs "Alright then..." I laugh and Shawn puts on an oven mit and pulls the cookies out. He smells them with, what's the word, intensity? It was not a pretty sight. "Alright I know you two are going to eat all of them so just leave me two okay?" My mom asks and Shawn nods with a cookie in his mouth.

We take a plate of cookies upstairs and set them on my 'bed'. "Hey real quick, why don't we look to see if I packed everything?" I state more as a question. "Ugh fineee." He caves. It takes us about 7 minutes and we plop on my bed and crawl under the blankets. It's freezing cold and it's 7:49. "Alright let's watch one movie and then go to sleep since we have to wake up at 2." I say being the responsible one in this duo.

After watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and eating too many cookies, we curl up under the blanket, my back against his stomach. I set 2 alarms, one at 2:00 and another at 2:05 in case I don't get up the first time. "Night Shawnie." "Night Ave." We fall asleep very fast and I'm very excited for tomorrow.

Beep Beep Beep

"Ugh Jesus Christ it's too early." I say slinking out of bed. I walk over to Shawn's side of the bed and slowly shake him awake. "Shawn we have to get up in order to be there at 2:45 for security." I quickly hop in the shower because I didn't take one yesterday. It was 5 minutes and I hopped out. I ask Shawn to grab me some clothes.

"Here ya go Ave. I also put your laptop back in your carry-on bag." He hands me them through the crack in the door. "Thank you!!" I say and close the door. And guess what he gave me. Merch! You guessed it. I put on my underwear, black sports bra, navy blue leggings, and a light-ish blue short sleeve shirt with Mendes 98 in the top right corner in black lettering on the front. He also grabbed a hoodie with Shawn Mendes in white lettering on the back. I smile and brush my hair.

I blow dry my hair quickly and put on mascara and just a bit of concealer. I throw my hair up in a high pony tail and walk out. It's 2:26. Shawn's already dressed in some jeans and a long sleeve shirt with a black sweatshirt pulled over. He went to the bathroom to fix his hair. I whistle at him and say "Damn boy lookin fineee!" He does look good though. He laughs and we walk downstairs.

I see my mom on the couch (Which was the only furniture that arrived with us), she must have fallen asleep there last night. I wake her up gently. "Hey mom do you want to go to the airport with us?" I ask her. "Yea sweetie let me go get the keys." She says. "I already grabbed them." I smile. We get in the Ford and drive to the airport.

Once we arrive it's 2:42. "Alright mom we really need to go through security. We're going to be late!" I say. I hug her and kiss her cheek. "Please be careful! I love You guys so much! Take care of her Shawn!" My mom yells after us as we're hurrying to the security clearance. "I love you too mom!" "Yes ma'am." Shawn replies.

We made it through security and put our luggage to where it needs to be and it's now 3:10. I'm still super tired. "Hey do you want a hot chocolate?" Shawn asks. "Only if you know my specific order!" I say back and chuckle a little. "I'll be right back." Shawn says and laughs a little as well.

He comes back about 5 minutes later with a hot chocolate from Starbucks. I don't like the coffee from Starbucks so hopefully this is good. "Here ya go ma'am. One hot chocolate, whip cream with chocolate chips in it, and a peppermint straw." He smiles and hands me my drink and sits down. I thank him and take a sip. "Oh my gosh this is really good!" I say and look at him. He smiles and laughs as I drink half of the cup.

"Hey Shawnie I'm really tired. I know you are too, but-" He cuts me off. "It's fine I'll stay awake and wait for our flight to be called. Go ahead and sleep." I smile and say "Thanks." "But there is a price." He adds and smirks. "And that is?" I groan. "I want the rest of your hot chocolate." He states. "Ya go for it." I say and lean on his shoulder. I fall asleep quickly with my carry-on bag in my lap.

I wake up to a soft shaking. "Hey Ave our flight is boarding." Shawn says. "Okay." I say. We get up and board the plane. I get the window seat and I immediately pull out my phone and earbuds. I put on some covers of Shawn I recently downloaded and drift off to sleep.
