Chapter 9

(2 years after the Cyborg Experiment)

(3rd person POV)

It's been 2 years after the incident, but Nita doesn't recall anything from those 4 weeks in the abandoned hospital. The policemen chose not to tell her parents about what happened when she came out of that building and just kept it to themselves. When Nita took home the little girl, her parents never seemed to acknowledge her. Nita tried to tell them about her but they said that she was just a figment of her imagination and to forget about her. But she knew that she was real. Since the incident, Nita has kept to herself, stayed in her room, and only talked to her new friend. She didn't stay in her room just because of them not believing her, oh no. She stayed in there because her mother started to become an abusive alcoholic, having fits and blaming stuff on her and her father. She was scared of her own mother now. Every day she would wake up to her mom yelling at her for breaking something or not doing what she was told to do. She claimed that she had told her to do something the previous day, but Nita had already done it. She was making false claims.

(Nita's POV)

Mommy has been really mean to me and daddy lately. My mom is always waking me up at 4 am every day. I've checked every time I woke up, it's always the exact time. I tell my friend everything. She seems to be the only one I can trust. She listens to me. She may seem scary but she is really kind and gentle. At least compared to everybody else. Changing the subject, today the little girl wanted to go exploring in the woods with me. I can't lie, I want to go in there too but, what would mommy and daddy do to me if they found out? I asked the little girl and she just said, "What they don't know won't kill them, right?" I thought about it and she was right. They don't have to know, I mean we won't go in that far in right? And we won't be gone too long. After thinking it over, I said ok and we snuck downstairs and out the back door. While sneaking out, I heard mommy and daddy fighting about something called 'moving' and 'divorce'. I was confused about these were but just shrugged it off as more of mommy's false claims. Once the little girl and I were in the backyard she found a way into the woods, through a hidden gate. She and I went through and started to go through the tree line. Once about 7 feet into the woods I stopped and stood there. She stopped and turned to me and asked, "What's wrong?" I looked at her with a worried expression and said, "This is far enough, we can't go too far out or we'll get lost." She sighed and went in front of me. "Hey, don't worry. I have a good memory. We won't get lost. Now come on, I want to see if we can find some animals, don't you?" I sighed and went with her.

(???'s POV)

I have been out in the woods for over an hour with my brother looking for the trace prime has told us about. But there's nothing here and we don't even seem to be getting close to it. "Brother, we seem to be getting too close to the treeline,"(P.S. If you didn't see on the cover of this story, there is going to be transformers in this story.) my brother said. I stopped and looked up to see houses just a couple of ways away. I sighed and turned around to walk back but heard footsteps crunching in the leaves. My brother seemed to notice this as well and started to panic. We weren't supposed to be seen by anyone here. I was panicking as well, I mean this was our first time in the field, we didn't know what to do. So I just did the first thing that came to mind. Run away. My brother seemed to get the idea and did the same.

(Back to Nita's POV)

As we were walking farther into the woods, I heard and felt the ground shake a little bit. The little girl seemed to notice too and started to look around for the source of the thumping. I was running around looking for the source. The funny thing is, it had the same timing as footsteps. But that can't be possible, I mean there couldn't be anything that big, could there? Then I heard jet engines and I looked up and saw 2 jets. "Awwww, I wanted it to be an animal." The girl said in disappointment. I giggled, but in reality, I was a little disappointed too. I wanted it to be some sort of animal or something special. That would have been really fun to see. After that, she and I continued walking to see if we could actually see something special. But we didn't realize how late it was getting. BIG MISTAKE.
