(Nita's POV)
As we were walking, I looked up at the sky and saw the stars starring right back at me. They were so pretty. I've never seen anything so beautiful before. I tugged on her shirt and she stopped and looked at me. I pointed up and she looked up. Her expression turned from serious to astonished. She gasped and put her hand over her mouth. I laid down on the ground and so did she and we just stared at the stars. Then, as I was looking up, I realized: It's night?! I shot upright and turned to her. "What's wrong?" "It's nighttime!!!!" She looked confused when she realized what I meant by that and stood up quickly. She grabbed my hand and bolted through the trees. Soon enough we reached the house. All the lights were on. "Oh no," I said in a whisper. I gulped and walked through the back door with the girl right behind me. When I came in, I turned toward the kitchen and saw my mom, with a bottle of wine in her hand. I just stood there. I couldn't move, I was too scared. She just stared at me with a pissed-off expression. I was about to say that I was going to bed but she cut me off. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!" I flinched at her outburst. No matter how many times she's screamed at me, it still makes me flinch every time. "Never mind, I don't care." She said in an odd tone. I looked over at the little girl and she was just staring at her with an unreadable expression. While staring at the little girl in worry, I heard something slam on the counter. I looked back to my mom to see her holding....our biggest and sharpest carving knife. She was just staring at me with a sadistic grin that I recognized. "Mommy careful with that, you might hu-" I then felt a burning pain in the right part of my face, and I couldn't see out of my right eye. I fell back and covered my right eye and looked up to my mom to see her with the bloody carving knife and the same smile on her face. I then heard a gasp behind me. I turned to see my dad with a flashlight in his left hand and a surprised and horrified look on his face. He then ran to me, picked me up, and took me to the bathroom and locked the door. He sat me down on the toilet and dug through the cabinet. While he was doing so, I turned to the mirror to look at my eye. There was so much blood. On the right side of my face, there was a huge cut covering my cheek, my eye, and my eyebrow. I wouldn't see out of my right eye at all. 'Why would mommy do this?' Does mommy hate me? I thought to myself. Soon my dad came over to me with the first aid kit and started to clean the blood off. "Why...?" He looked at me and said, "Hmm? Why what?" "WHY DID MOMMY DO THIS TO ME?! WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!" I sobbed into my hands. He stopped and hugged me. I sobbed in his arms and kept hugging him. As he hugged me, he took out his phone and called 911. Once he was done, he stopped hugging me and continued to clean the cut with a blank expression...like the girl did. Once he was done he took my ponytail out and started to redo my hair. He took some of my hair and covered the right side of my face and put a little bit of my hair behind my left ear and put the rest of my hair up in a ponytail and put a little bow in it. "There. Now don't take it out, because you look beautiful." After he said that, he kissed my forehead and picked me up and took me to his car, all the while making sure my mom didn't follow us. He put me in the backseat and buckled me up in my car seat. Surprisingly, the little girl was already inside the car. When I turned to her she had tears streaming down her face and she hugged me. "I'm sorry. This was my fault I should have taken us home sooner." She said as she sobbed. "No, no, no. This wasn't your fault, it was mine." I said to soothe her. Then I heard sirens, and I saw flashing blue and red lights. I saw a man get out of a black and white car and he started to talk with my daddy while other men went into my house. I looked at the man and recognized him. He was the man that dragged me out of that white room in the police station 2 years ago. I got chills. Then I saw the men that went in the house, come out with my mom. Then they put her in the back of their car. By that time, my dad had already gotten into the car and started driving. "Where are we going?" The little girl asked. "We're going to a new home on the other side of town." My dad said. I thought they said she wasn't real? Could he see her the whole time? Hmmm.
