Chapter 26

A/N Sorry I haven't updated in a while...stuff happened but here's the next chapter, hope you enjoy. ;p

(Nita's POV)

'Wow. That went better than I expected,' I thought to myself. "He looked too suspicious to me," Diana said while materializing next to me. I could tell by his expression that she was right. He looked like he didn't buy it all. "I should probably stay in my room for now," I said quietly. Maybe today just wasn't my day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. I slowly slid off my bed and walked over to my dresser and stood on my tippy toes and grabbed my music box and started to wind it up as I made my way back to my bed. It started to play the soft tune and I smiled thinking of when my Dad showed one of these to me. He was so kind and innocent; I couldn't bear the thought of him having to work and worry about my social life. I climbed up onto my bed and laid on my back with the music box next to me. I hummed to the box's tune as I slowly started to drift off to sleep. Not long after, I fell into a deep sleep.

(Nightmare)

I woke up with a jolt and found myself in the middle of the woods sounded by darkness once again. I felt so scared. I didn't want to go through this again. I wanted to curl into a ball and stay there until I woke up but I if I did I would get killed. Mear seconds after I thought of what might come for me this time, I felt the ground shake. I also started to hear a slight growling noise from almost 2 miles away from my back. I hesitated for a moment but I hesitantly turned around and immediately went pale and I felt like I was about to throw up. The ground was sinking into itself and an enormous hand, made out of fire and lava, gripped one of the trees and started to pull the owner's body out. I could finally move my legs and started to run forward as fast as my legs could carry me. I didn't care where I would end up, I just had to get away from that monster. Almost a half an hour later I collapsed on the ground and tried to catch my breath. As I was trying to get my breath back, I looked up to see where I was and I saw a cave in front of me. I heard a large roar in the distance and took no time running inside the cave to hide. I stopped about 20 feet inside and hid behind a rock. At this point, I had tears in my eyes and I wanted to wake up. Why couldn't I wake up?! My breath hitched when I noticed what I was hiding behind. It was a large dark figure with its face 3 feet in front of mine. I covered my mouth to hold in a scream but I couldn't hold it when as I saw a red eye blink open and stare straight at me.

 (End of Nightmare)

I was still screaming when I woke up. I felt someone touch my shoulder and screamed even louder but was soon shhh'ed by a soothing, familiar voice. I looked up to the person with tears in my eyes and saw my father with a concerned look on his face.
