Chapter 22: court

||Ivan||
They woke me up at 5:00am. I had court today at 8:30am and I was really nervous... I miss Paris so much, I hope she was okay after yesterday.

*8:30am*
I walked into the courtroom and saw everyone. Emilio, Madeline, Jake, Erika, Tessa, Chance, Anthony, Kade, Tristan, everyone. But I didn't see Paris... I watched the door for about 3 minutes and she walks in. She looks gorgeous. She's wearing a dress, I've never seen her in a dress.

||Paris||
We got to the courthouse and I couldn't go in. I couldn't handle it if they found him guilty for defending me. But I realized that I needed to see this. I ran in and I saw him. His eyes widened as if he had been waiting for me to walk through that door the whole time. He smiled at me and I felt a tear roll down my face as I smiled back at him. I sat down where everyone else was and waited until I was called up to the stand to say my statement.

*an hour and a half later*
Judge: in the case of Ivan Martinez, accused of murder in the second degree has been found... not guilty due to self defense. You will need to sign some forms and get your things and you're free to go.

A weight has just been lifted off my shoulders. He's ok. He's coming home. I start crying. Jake comes over and gives me a huge hug. I'm so happy! Madeline comes over and joins the hug.

Jake: I'm so glad I have the privilege of taking care of you two. You have changed me so much. I love you both.

Paris: we love you too, Jake.

Madeline: yea, and we love being on team 10 and living in L.A.

We walk out of the court room and drive to the jail where we are supposed to pick up Ivan. We walked into the waiting room and there he was. I was so happy to see him. He turned around and I ran towards him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me off the ground. I wrapped my legs around his waist and rested my head on his shoulder.

Ivan: *whispers* I missed you so much. I'm so sorry I left you.

Paris:*whispers* I missed you too.

Ivan: *talking normally* come on guys.

He carried me out of the police station and we went home. I'm so happy he's back. I can't imagine the Team 10 house without him.

Ivan: I'm going to go lay down... jail beds are really uncomfortable.

He went upstairs and I went to the kitchen to get some water. Madeline came into the kitchen.

Madeline: hey... so, are you guys...

Paris: I don't know, Madeline... I love him more than anything but I broke up with him.. what do you think I should do?

Madeline: I... I don't know. I think you just need to talk to him. Not today though, I'm sure he's tired.

Paris: yea. You're right... we should go shopping. I need something to take my mind off of everything.

Madeline: sounds great!

Paris: we should see if anyone else wants to come.

Madeline: okay.

||Madeline||
We went upstairs and asked everyone if they wanted to come. Jake and Erika said they would come. Tessa and Chance said they would come. Ivan and Emilio said they would come. And so we all loaded into the Team 10 van and we drove to the grove.
We walked around for a while, bought a few things, and then we left. By the time we got home it was 12 and everyone was exhausted. Emilio and I slept in my bed and Paris and Ivan sat on the couch and were talking. Everyone else went to their rooms and went to sleep.

||Ivan||
Paris said she wanted to talk.

Paris: I'm sure you know what I want to talk about...

Ivan: us?

Paris: yea... I mean, is there still an us?

Ivan: I don't know... do you want there to still be an us?

Paris: Ivan... I love you more than anything. But I think we should take some time as friends before we start dating again... let's just let whatever happens, happen.

Ivan: so, you're saying that if we kiss, it just happened and nothing changes.

Paris: I'm saying that I can't be with you right now. But I don't want to lose our connection.

Ivan: so, one day, we can get back together?

Paris: I'm sure we will. But, for right now... we're just friends.

Ivan: are you sure?

I said that knowing she would say "yes". But before she could answer I kissed her. She kissed me back. We kissed for about 5 minutes until Tessa walked downstairs.

Tessa: are you guys back together?

Paris: um... no.

Tessa: well, I totally ship Pivan.

Paris: ok... well, goodnight guys.

Ivan: goodnight, gorgeous.
