Chapter 4 (Rewrite)

Summary: Oliver, Barry, Alex, Cisco, J'onn, and Caitlin go to save Kara. Cadmus figures out some secrets about Kara and Kara figures out some secrets about Cadmus. Kinda sad, if you consider this kind of stuff sad.

(Kara's Apartment)

"Then let's do something, once J'onn finds her location, we need to go. I'll call J'onn real quick and tell him to search all the warehouses in and around National City," Alex says in one quick sentence. Then she walks somewhere more private to call J'onn.

"How bad was she?" Oliver questions quietly, scared to find out.

"It was so...horrifying," Cisco answered shakily. His breathing ragged from terror.

"She doesn't deserve this, any of this," Oliver sighs, gaining an exasperated tone to his voice. He runs a hand through his hair and paces around a bit. A picture catches his eyes. It's a photo of Kara, and what must be her sister and her mom. They're smiling, and standing very close to each other. It almost makes him smile despite the situation.

"She's a beacon for all things bad," he continues and shakes his head.

"Damn straight."

"Alright, I talked with J'onn and he says he'll have Winn finding her location and assembling a team all within twenty minutes," Alex conveys as she comes back into the room. Sliding her phone back into her pocket. Oliver and Cisco unintentionally nod in synchronization.

"Also, Barry will probably be over here in less than ten seconds, just a heads up," she warns. She was proven correct when they were all knocked sideways as he sped into the room.

"Alright, J'onn wants us all back at the D.E.O within like five minutes, so we gotta go," Barry rushes out and they all follow him out of Kara's apartment and back down the sidewalk to the D.E.O. They walk at a quick pace, ignoring all the weird looks they were earning. Yep, they were wearing costumes, and yep, they were serious about it.

When they entered the elevator, there was an awkward silence, filled with a lot of heavy breathing. "I really hope J'onn has a plan or we'll have walked all this way for nothing," Alex complains and presses a hand to her chest. Taking a few deep breaths. She most certainly does NOT have superpowers. (But, that doesn't make her any less awesome.)

The elevator doors opened and they exited.

(Cadmus)

Kara moaned and covered her eyes. The blinding light was shining directly in her eyes. She glanced around at her surroundings. There was nobody around, but she had a feeling that there were cameras watching closely. She weakly pulled against the chains keeping her inbound. But, like always, she was weak, and it did no good. The hunks of Kryptonite around made it no easier.

Something seemed off. She couldn't really use her super-hearing that well, but she could hear some talking. Talking went from just that to shouting. It was Lillian Luthor and one of her "agents." They were arguing about the best way....to kill her and then take over the D.E.O. She shuddered and closed her eyes, to keep the light from getting in her eyes anymore.

She had hope that her friends would come and save her, but it was getting harder and harder for her to stay awake. To keep that hope. She manages a small smile, before letting herself drift off into unconsciousness again, only to later be tortured.

(At the D.E.O)

"You ready?" Alex asks, leaning over to fix her boots. She glances at Oliver with an inquisitive look. He nods curtly and pulls his hood over his head. Once they all have their weapons and everything else they need.
