Summary: They go to save her but they find that she has a little bit of heroism left in her.

(Earth 38)

The feeling of cool water splashing her face wakes her. She lurches forward only to be stopped by chains attached to the ceiling. They were attached to her feet and her arms. She shivers, and pulls against the chains trying to break loose.

"Kryptonite is a fun thing isn't it? See, I melted it down and diluted it with lead, just to make these cuffs," Lex tells her walking around her, admiring his work on the cuffs. He walks around front and smirks at her.

"How long have I been out?" She asks, her voice hoarse. She was cold, weak, groggy.

"About 2 hours, give or take," he answers, pausing for a moment to let it sink in. "I told you that I always keep my promise."

"You did, and I have a feeling that's the only thing that you're ever going to do for me," she hisses, breaking out in a coughing fit a few seconds later.

"You are correct. Now, I hope you have a high pain threshold without your powers, cuz it's going to get a little...brutal in here," he taunts, hoping to get a response from her. She sighs, not even in the mood to put up a fight.

"Great, I'm elated," she says sarcastically, rolling her eyes. He signals to a Cadmus agent standing off to the side waiting for him. The agent wheels a cart over, and exits.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, you see that little lamp above your head, that's a red sun lamp," he says, then eyes over his tools. "I think I'll use this," he holds up a scalpel that has an L engraved on it, and the family insignia.

He walks over and cuts into a spot by her collarbone, seeing if she's vulnerable enough to use the scalpel yet. The blood trickles down her chest in a singular drop. She winces at the momentary stinging sensation.

He chuckles, cutting open her suit. From the upper torso to the lower torso, right above the belly button. "I wonder if I could draw the S, your symbol of hope," he ponders aloud, dragging the blade on her vulnerable skin.

"I can't pick up her heat signature," Alex says, her voice wavering. This is about the third time she's tried to do it and no luck. She slams her hand on the desk, and stalks off.

Everyone looks at each other, mentally flipping the coin on who has to talk to her. "I'll go," Winn tells them, stands up, and follows her. When he finally catches up to her he grabs her by the shoulder. She turns around and throws her arms around him.

He returns the hug. "Hey, you're okay, you're trying your hardest and none of this is your fault," he tries to comfort her.

"It is my fault Winn, I was heading over there, and Lex caught me, then he caught J'onn, if I had never decided to do any of this Kara would never be in this situation," she explains, growing angry. Not at Winn, but herself.

"It's not your damn fault. I don't think it is and Kara wouldn't think it is. You just got engaged to Maggie, you were excited and you wanted to tell your sister. No one could have known that you would get capture by Lex friggin' Luthor. But we all know your sister, and we know that she's stubborn and strong, so stop thinking that it was your fault," he reprimands, gripping her shoulders firmly.
