Chapter 6

Beast Boy:

I squeezed my eyes shut and covered my ears. I sank down to the ground. But I could still hear his screams.

"I hate you, Slade. I hate you, Slade. I hate you, Slade." I thought over and over again. It wasn't fair that Aqua had to go out there alone. I should've gone with her. I ran to my room and shut the door. I couldn't even imagine how much pain both of them were going through.

But I could only watch as my friends endured it.

Aqua.

To be honest, I felt like death. Everyone of my movements caused me pain. Yet I had to keep going. My brother was counting in me, even if he didn't know it yet. I had tried two other hospitals and they too were out of King Cobra antivenin. I was running out of options.

As I ran out of yet another hospital, I ducked into an alley and covered y face with my hands. Tears came streaming down my face. It was just impossible. I wished that I could just find Slade and demand that he give me the antivenin. This made me wonder why he did it. If he knows that if one of us dies then the other one dies a few minutes later then why would we do it? Why would he try to kill Robin? Then it came to me. He didn't know. He didn't know that our lives were linked. What he said when Robin had told him, "If you kill me then you kill her too!" meant that Slade hadn't known! I suddenly jumped up, scaring a guy next to me. He had bright red hair, freckled skin, and wore a red and yellow jumpsuit.

"Sorry Kid Flash." I apologized.

"It's okay. I heard about what happened with Robin. And I want to help." KF put a hand on my shoulder. I smiled, sort of.

"Thanks. I just don't know what to do. All the hospitals are out of antivenin and I need it in," I checked my watch, "19 minutes!"

"Can't you contact the others in Steel City and tell them what you need?" E made it sound like a no brainer.

"Yeah except I don't have my communicator. Left it back at the tower." I frowned.

"Darn. I don't have mine either."

"Wait a minute!" I snapped my fingers, "Kid Flash how long does it take you to run from Jump City to Steel City?"

"About 5 minutes. Why?" He looked confused.

"I have a message for the Titans East. And it's urgent." I grinned.
