Chapter 17

Robin:

I don't know where she got the idea, but I liked it. There was no way that I was going to let that psycho take my sister. The Titans East decided that they wanted to help too. I was fine with that.

"We only have about two minutes tops. Get in position." I stood next to Aqua, who hugged herself tightly. I slightly nudged her and smiled, "We'll get through this. Besides, we've done it before."

"I know I know but it still doesn't make the feeling go away." She stared at the doorway with a look of pure dread.

"No one's going to get hurt." Of course just as I say this the door explodes.

"Nice timing." Aqua elbowed me and giggled.

"Where are your friends Becky?" Joker sauntered forward like a drunk man.

"Somewhere....." Aqua smirked, "Over the rainbow. Where's yours?" Joker toyed with a knife, grinning.

"Oh he had to go get a few things...but he told me not to have too much fun cause apparently Bird Boy and Becky have a 'psychical bond', whatever that means." He suddenly threw it at us. Training kicked in and I caught it before it hit Aqua's forehead. She glared her 'instant death glare' as I like to call it.

"That was aimed for my head." She stated simply. No fear, no panic, no emotion at all, "Leave. Us. Alone."

"Hmmm...nah." Joker stepped towards is again.

"Titans go!" I yelled. I took Aqua's hand and we ran off to the side. While she hid I went back out. Beast Boy ran back to the spot where Aqua was, he was our defender. The rest of us would fight. I just hoped and prayed that Joker hadn't brought along his homicidal girlfriend, Harley. That girl was......well.....special. But of course, my hopes and prayers landed in deaf ears cause guess who comes skipping in behind Joker? Harley, with about five or six big goons. And when I say big I mean BIG.

"Mistah J! Where's Beckah?" Harley scanned the room, saw Beast Boy, and smiled, "Oh I see. Y'all her friends huh? Nice tah see ya 'gain Bird Boy!" I rolled my eyes and ignored the insults. Learned pretty early on that they were only trying to make you angry.

"Stay away from her." I glared at Harley with a glare that Aqua would be proud of.

"Boys," Joker looked back at the goons, "Get 'em." They came rushing at us like a tidal wave. One swung his fist at me and I ducked. I kicked out my feet, catching him off gaurd. He slammed into the floor and was knocked unconscious. The ten of us surrounded Aqua, keeping her well out of reach.

And that's when it happened.

Green smoke began to fill the room. The goons, Joker, and Harley all put on gas masks. There was no time to react, nothing could've been done. The last thing I saw before everything went black was the fearful face of my sister.
