Chapter 9

Beast Boy

Robin smiled. In the medically induced coma we'd put him in, he smiled. I checked all the equipment and there was only slightly more brain activity then normal. 

"Raven? What does it mean when you smile in your sleep?" I asked on the communicator. 

"It means that whatever dream your having is probably good. Why?" She answered exasperated. 

"Robin smiled in the coma. Is that, you know, normal?" 

"I don't know. What did the charts say?" 

"There was a little more brain activity then normal. What does that mean? I'm confused." I sat down cross legged on the floor clutching the communicator in my hand. 

"Hold on I'm coming up." A few seconds later Raven came in. She checked the charts nodding like she knew what it meant. Despite myself I began to get annoyed. 

"What? What is going on with him? I want to know!" I burst out. 

"He's been talking with Aqua." 

Aqua: 

Finally after what seemed like hours of running then resting running then resting, I finally reached Jump City bay. 

"About time, Aqua." A figure stood on the dock. My breathing rapidly increased and I marched forward. 

"What do you want, Slade! You're already killing my brother what else could you want!?" I spat. Slade held up his hand and I flinched, half expecting him to throw a snake my way any moment. 

"I've begun to realize that it was a mistake to try to kill Robin, because if he dies. So do you." 

"And your JUST realizing that now!?" I glared at the hated man, "Get out of my way before I freeze you and push you to the bottom of the bay." I stepped on the water, turning a small sliver into ice. Slade grabbed my arm and pulled me back on shore. 

"Ah ah ah. You didn't really think I was just going to let you leave did you?" Slade taunted. 

The last thing I remember is thinking, 

"ROBIN!"
