Chapter 4

Beast Boy

I paced around biting my nails. This whole thing just took a turn for the worst. Robin had 30 minutes to live and no way to tell Aqua. She had left her communicator here and we couldn't bring it out to her. Because we didn't know where she was.

"Beast Boy will you stop pacing around your driving me crazy!" Raven opened her eyes and sank back down to the ground.

"Sorry." I mumbled, "What are you trying to do anyway?" 

"I'm trying to establish a connection so that I can tell her she only has thirty minutes to get the antivenin and back." She stared out the window towards Jump City.

"Where is she?" I thought aloud.

Aqua.

"Where am I?" I thought. I'd never been in this part of the city before. It was all burnt and charred. This must've happened a long time ago.

"Hey, pretty kitty. What's a girl like you doin down 'ere?" An obviously drunk man stumbled out of the ally.

"I dunno what's an idiot like you doing hitting on a girl like me?" I turned and walked down the street. The man grabbed my shoulders and turned me back around, "Let go of me!"

"I gotta say. For such a pretty girl you shore ain't smart."

"Hey I said let me go! I've got places to be and the sure as Trigon aren't going to be anywhere near you!" I shouted. I jerked my head and a huge wave of water came rushing down the street and straight towards us. The man instantly dropped me and ran away. I split the wave and let it chase after him.

That was his punishment for hitting on me. A few minutes later I decided to call back to the tower and see how Robin was doing. I stopped at a pay phone.

"Hello?" Cyborgs voice sounded tired.

"Hey Cy, it's me. I wanted to see how Robin is." I explained what had happened and that I'd be running a little later on schedule than I'd hoped.

"Well there's something that you need to know. Robin only has about 25 minutes left." On the other end I imagined Cyborg rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh. Well then I'd better be off. Can't waste anymore time." Then I hung up.

Twenty-five minutes? This would be harder than I anticipated. A lot harder.
